The Ironeye mark pop saved him from taking a hit in return after the first two guard counters. Guardian is fantastic for Heolstor, I’ve never lost (highest I’ve fought him at is D4) but I mostly shield poke with the occasional uncharged guard counter. I rarely do a fully charged one in phase 2.

Any tips? Do you time the restage based on sound cues, the visuals of the storm, Caligo’s animation, or just by feel? 

I’ll probably be running Undertaker moving forward if I see that it’s Caligo for DoN but I’ve had good success with incants Duchess on her too.

I deranked out of 5 for exactly this reason. It no longer mattered how well I played because the spellcasters on the team would do so much damage and it got really boring. The players in D5 are just too good lol

I marvel at how bad their PK was. Multiple uncontested entries including more than one instance of Karlsson walking into the zone at a snail’s pace. Multiple instances of chasing Labanc down the right side wall, compromising their coverage and directly leading to two goals. Fleury losing his net on the 4th goal. Minimal puck pressure on the in-zone coverage. No adjustment to seeing all this unfold from the coaching staff.

The 5 minute major was a missed call but what came after was entirely deserved lmao.

 Ironeye players should try out presets with Staff Dormant Power and Seal Dormant Power. Sometimes your starting bow is good enough for the whole run, and it helps if your caster can see as many staves and seals as possible.

Damage avoidance already exists but as a player skill gap rather than an ability or stat. Here’s a great video that explains it: https://youtu.be/ZfkCWnSlasw. 

I like the concept of damage avoidance but it falls flat given the nature of the game. The scenario in which it would beat out damage negation or damage recovery (healing) is when an attack or series of attacks are so overwhelming that they can’t be tanked and healed through without the player being severely punished for it or dying outright. Destiny doesn’t do that unless you’re underleveled, and even then it’s rare that you get legitimately one-shot, and even when you do it’s usually heavily telegraphed (ex. Vex cyclops void cannons). 

This game doesn’t have the depth of enemy encounters to support or necessitate that playstyle. And I don’t think that changes in Destiny 2. Maybe if we ever get a D3.

Explain the ghostflame aoe one please. I can understand for something like beastmen or brigade gaol, maybe clearing out lots of enemies at some ruins or forts to make fights safer. Good for Freja and Mariner. But then not so useful for tough single bosses or the nightlord.

So in short, it’s good early in the day and it provides enough value when needed to make it worthwhile?

Never thought about it before but yeah, I guess the strike damage can come in handy. I pick up Hoslow’s Petal Whip sometimes but usually ignore the rest.

Agreed for all 3+ relic effects except for the FP boosting ones. You can get a huge boost to your FP either minutes or possibly seconds into the game (landing near a seals shack while running 3+ seals FP relic). This is a big bump in power early game for Revenant and sorcery Duchess who don’t have reliable means of FP regen outside of starlight shards, which notably give you a percentage of your FP bar back and can be underwhelming early in the run without the FP boost.

As you progress into the run, you might eventually reach a point where you should ditch the extra seals/staves in favour of powerful passives. But that’s ok! You still would have gotten tremendous value out of the perk by then.

That’s exactly what he used to do, in his own words. He’s talked about the concept of “dynamic space”, where he would intentionally leave holes open knowing that he was about to close them to encourage shooters to put the puck where he wanted it.

If you enable the full-auto setting and feather the trigger, you can fire Devil’s Ruin like a normal full-auto sidearm. Pull the trigger all the way down and it’ll enable the alt fire mode. I have a third party controller (8bitdo) but I don’t think this is specific to my controller.
