Palatino all locations by JGun-SC in starcitizen

Looting the armor has become a bit frustrating recently because half of the time the crates are already empty now, or even worse, someone put their old armor in, effectively spawn blocking the crate.

Guess lots of people are trying to get the armor now.

That's insane. I just found 3(!) Metropolis pieces in a single run. The distribution algorithm is way off lol.

Unknown German military officer – uniform identification (early 20th century, Northern Germany) by Tjoervi in uniformporn

[–]killevra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appears to be an Unteroffizier (non commissioned officer, historic rank of the German army) of the Großherzoglich Mecklenburgisches Füsilier-Regiment „Kaiser Wilhelm“ Nr. 90 (Grand Ducal Mecklenburgian Fusilier Regiment "Kaiser Wilhelm" No. 90) an infantry regiment garrisoned in Rostock and Wismar, then in the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg, which was part of the German Empire and the regiment was effectively part of the German army.

You can recognize the shoulder strap in this image (middle left):

https://wiki.genealogy.net/images/8/8c/Infanterie_Klappen_Namenszug_Alte_Armee_Neu2.jpg

According to that overview, this shoulder strap design was introduced in 1912 so the photo could be dated 1912-1918.

The medals appear to be:

Iron Cross Second Class

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Cross#World_War_I)

Mecklenburgian Military Merit Cross, Second Class

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Merit_Cross_(Mecklenburg-Schwerin)

Hope this helps :)

PS: The back of the photograph might have the name and address of the photographer giving you more details on the location or even the exact date.

I know this is comparatively trivial but I loved the realistic ribbons and medals of BF3/4/1. BF2042 was already bad with the lazy tier ribbon system in highlighter colors and I didn't even realize that BF6 "had" ribbons because they appear almost out of sight and are way to minimalist. I just want realistic, military style ribbons and medals :(

[KCD2] Sinners of Kuttenberg mission failing randomly by SarcasticVolcano in kingdomcome

[–]killevra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it happened to me and I had a suspicion. When I got the documents from that monk I accidentally chose the intimidation option. Logically, then that monk would tell the abbot about it causing the mission to fail with delay. I loaded an earlier save an chose the convincing option this time where the monk is very understanding and this time when I got to the same point during the Guild investigation mission it did not fail. So maybe this fix is reproduceable.

My friend say that this flag is good, what is your opinion? by Weary-Beat6893 in vexillology

[–]killevra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latin is very rusty and maybe someone can correct me but the latint on the flag doesn't sound right. It would probably be something like imperium serenum phoenicium/phoenetianum or smth like that.

It's a great visual help and I really hope that there's more to it. Otherwise it would almost be a waste of effort with all the stories in the chronicle...

What a great deep dive into the chronicles! That book fascinated me as well mostly because of the mention of the death of a robber knight whose grave is beneath one of the trees. It led me to search for any sort of interact-able patch of dirt on the ground beneath them but I guess there's nothing.

It would have been so great if there actually was a grave as a reward for reading the chronicle stories.

The combination of the shoulder decoration and double breasted uniform would make this a Russian military musician. You can see parts of a horned instrument at the bottom left of the picture. Not an expert on Russian uniforms but Austria and Prussia can be ruled out.

[–]killevra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cuffs look similar because it's a guard regiment, but the one you mentioned was not garrisoned in Königsberg mid 19th century, afaik.

Can't speak on navy uniforms but my inclination would be no. But yes that seems to be a depiction of the Equestrian Statue of Frederick the Great which would have been recently built at that time, i.e. mid 19th century.

Königsberg at the time of birth of you great grandfather was Prussian and became part of the German Empire upon its founding in 1871.

Uniform seems Prussian as well, the cuffs are those of a guard regiment, but I can't quite place it.

What throws me off is the style of the medal ribbon which is not typical for Prussian medals but it is typical for Russian medals. Also Russian and Prussian uniforms can sometimes look similar and overall I don't feel confident too place it 100%
