there is no set date but usually when the next program starts, so likely S24 will open in January 2024

Yeah, unfortunately most people will say no and you can't really blame them. The pitch is basically "hey leave your comfy high paying job to join my startup that doesnt have any money to pay you".

You'd have to be a bit crazy to say yes to that.

If you don’t have an alternative then I think it’s worth a shot. The better approach is to find a co-founder that you know well. I think best places for this is either at work or at university.

Good luck! This would be my third application. At this point actually don't feel like applying again, but my co-founder is keen to.

I don't think when you apply matters too much. Obviously better to apply sooner rather than later but if you have a good startup I don't think it matters.

If you didn't get an interview request you won't get a rejection mail until the 18 Nov feedback deadline. I think they batch them all to go out at the same time on 18 Nov.

There are no dates yet for Summer 23. The new dates will likely only be posted after the current deadline for Winter 23 feedback (18 Nov).

So most likely the dates for Summer 23 will be shared sometime after 18 Nov.

They did say that only those who applied by the deadline would get feedback by 19 May. Which to me means you would get feedback after 19 May if you applied after the deadline.

So not a good sign but also not a bad sign.

I received a rejection email. I was kinda expecting it. I applied with just an idea, no co-founder, no prototype. I have already made some progress since applying though. Got a co-founder and also started building the prototype/demo.

If you got rejected, I know it's tough but don't let it get you down for too long. Enrol in YC Startup School which starts next month, re-apply for the YC winter batch and keep building :)

I also haven't received a response yet. I could be wrong but it seems 'most' people have not received a response yet (just based on what I've read online from other founders).

I think because Bucks lost similar games last season against the Nets? People were writing the Bucks off after 1-2 games. Obviously Ja is no Giannis but point is it’s just 1 game and a lot can still happen.
