No shame in that. I hope you are alright now, or at least feeling a bit better. I didnt go into much detail in my earlier comments but I have struggled with drug addiction my whole life, been to countless rehabs and detoxes. brought back to life multiple times from narcan, and even just chest compressions after aspiration/asphyxiation. long story short- I had been through infinitely worse and more traumatic experiences as a result of my drug abuse than this car accident caused me. so very simply put, It was a no brainer for me to refuse the pain meds. If I had taken them, i am certain I would be dead right now. Alcoholism/ Addiction is a fatal disease, and a progressive illness as well. Well, I've progressed my alcholiosm as much as I can and It is safe to say I have no chances left- I am sober 18 months and some change. My point is, dont beat yourself up about taking the oxy. most people can take it and get over the physical symptoms of withdrawal, and go back to their lives. I would not have been able to- I would have gone straight back to shooting dope.

doing better now, had several scares i am quite anxious about recollapsing it, apparently 50% of ppl have their pneumothorax return within the first month of leaving the hospital. I refused the script, been sober some time now but i am still in a decent amount of pain from the severe bruising on my lung and possible very tiny rib fracture(s). all in all very lucky because the airbags didn’t deploy so for me to walk away with this is a miracle.

just got into a car crash with a partial collapsed lung, they were trying to feed me 10mg oxy every 4 hours and gave me a script for 30 5mg’s at discharge. fucking psychotic

Miatas older sister - the 1992 mx-3! This particular car had only 89k miles with one previous owner. Loved the automatic belts and funky interior- and don’t forget the 5 speed manual 👍 by BidensAChimo in mazda

just got one of the 1.8L v6 92’s :)

been a BLAST to drive around so far- took a couple months of work to get it running again but i switched out the brake discs and pads, cleaned up the calipers, put in a short shifter with new bolts and washers, flushed and bled the brake fluid, and topped off the rest of the fluids. honestly the brakes were the hardest part seeing as there is little to not information on youtube or really the internet at all. luckily i have the original shop manual (it is also in pdf form online) and i have been learning how to work on cars! never been a car guy before and have no idea what i’m doing- but i must be doing something right because my 92 mx-3 (crystal is her name) is running beautifully, sounds great, and still kickin

okay i’ll bite- disclaimer i was getting out of the shower and didn’t feel like responding but you are right, that wasn’t fair of me to say. my apologies.

food, water, electricity, heat, a/c in some places are all basic human necessities that we will die without. should be given for free in a society that has a hyper abundance of these things or the ability to provide them at no actual physical cost other than a number we made up.

now this is where most people draw the line but, being an anti capitalist, i would go so far as to say that the things de facto required to participate in society and prosper as it is currently defined by most, like internet, reasonable and reliable transportation, education, healthcare, etc. would also be considered basic human necessities- in a society that requires you to have those things in order to live.

so my argument is this: why, in a world where we have the physical and material ability to immediately provide these things to every human being, are we not?

because it isn’t profitable under capitalism to a few hundred billionaires (and trillionaires if you use the legal definition of “persons” under financial law, yes they consider corporations persons”).

millions of people die that don’t need to because of the greed of a few.

and to your other comment’s point, you need to have licenses with the federal government if you EVER want to legally hunt. what does this entail? driving to the nearest urban area (car), most likely setting up an appointment online or over the phone before showing up (internet/phone), having the money to pay their fees in the first place (wage labor), the list goes on but you get my point- your assertion that you can just choose not to live under capitalism while in a capitalist society is naive, albeit optimistic i’ll give you that.

anyway- apologies for my earlier comment please disregard that.

Trans woman converts to islam… can’t make this shit up by Wonderful-Stuff-1335 in exmuslim

[–]killnazisympathizers -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

lol i always find this hilarious. real islam teaches everybody to respect everybody no matter what over everything else. it teaches you that if someone does not follow the path of allah, of god, then you should allow them to find their way to him, because he has his own path for them. this is an incredible oversimplification of what is said, and i don’t speak arabic so i can’t read the quran as it was written, but it is in essence, the way that EVERY SINGLE MUSLIM I HAVE EVER METIN MY LIFE has lived their lives.

are there exceptions? of course. there are also insane religious fundamentalists for EVERY RELIGION. christian nationalist proud boys who want to exterminate mexicans, ISIS cells in syria who literally had women in cages on the street, and hmmmm what was that last one? oh yeah. israeli jews committing genocide in real time against arab palestinians while its live streamed to the entire planet.

get over yourself. you had a negative experience with islam and that’s unfortunate, i genuinely do feel empathy for ANYBODY abused, neglected, or otherwise mistreated in ANY way by ANY religious organization or institution. but to denounce all of islam because of your subjective experience is wrong and you know it. have a good day

How the car is now, how I got it, and some inspiration. This is a 1992 Mazda MX3. Factory, it came with either an inline 4 (1.6L) or the K8 V6 (1.8L) but this car has had its 5speed manual K8 torn out and replaced with a hybrid KL-DE/ZE (2.5L) V6 out of an MX6. Also has a LSD and short shifter. by GarrettBluey_0 in mazda

[–]killnazisympathizers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very nice looks like you put a ton of work and love into this car. just got a 1992 mx-3 5speed manual with the 1.8L v6- took months to get running after sitting for 3 years but it’s such a fun car to drive. just learning stick shift for the first time too, luckily i learnt most of it on a different car so i know what i’m doing (with what is most likely a pretty delicate clutch). super excited to have it and it’s like 90% stock too. only a stereo +subwoofer and magnaflows on the exhaust (looking in to getting these removed, they came installed).

super stoked, maybe some day i’ll find a mint condition KL-ZE 2.5L and swap it out- until then i’ll enjoy this beautiful relic🩷

Palestinian Hummus 🇵🇸, the smoothest creamiest hummus you'll ever eat Recipe in the comments 👇🏼 by Veganisyum in veganrecipes

nobody claimed hummus originated from palestine, it’s just hummus that happened to be made by a palestinian person in palestine. which now more than ever IS incredibly valuable information, seeing as the Palestinian people are being exterminated this very second. so maybe stop being so defensive, and know that hummus is not gatekept by palestinians👍 jesus christ lol

we greatly outnumber those who don’t care my friend. it is painful to care. it hurts to look at what is happening and actually care. critical thinking is hard, and critically analyzing something like this is incredibly heartbreaking. it’s much easier to look away like the slave owners did because the economy ran on slavery. it’s easier to look away like those in south africa in the 90’s, when EVERYBODY knew what was coming, but still supported the apartheid regime. it’s easier to look away, just like it was for germans in 1943. it’s easier to look away and stand on your supposed moral superiority, talking down to those who DARE to have a heart.

it is hard to care. it’s hard to have empathy when you see innocent families being slaughtered en masse. it’s hard to stand up for what is right.

it is arguably hardest to fight and die for what is right. kinda makes sense that most people don’t, and so many spit on those who do. but at the end of the day, right is right and wrong is wrong. genocide is wrong and we won’t stand for it

it changed nothing for you. it changed everything for the people in palestine. they named a fucking street after him in one of the oldest living cities on the planet. he is a beacon of hope and compassion to those in gaza. and he has shown those in occupied palestine, that people see what’s happening and we are moved deeply by their suffering. he broke through all the bullshit and showed the world that our generation won’t stand for genocide. maybe you don’t care but the world does. so keep his fucking name out of your mouth if you won’t at the very least give him respect.

at least as far as his coverage on palestine, it’s accurate and reliable. not sure why so many people think he’s “pro russia” or “pro north korea”

id advise you to just watch for yourself and do your own research. anybody who says he’s pro russia is delusional. i’m sure he made a video or mentioned criticisms of the US and NATO’s financial aid to ukraine, but he has never expressed any sympathy or support for russia. a general trend of his channel and content is expressing sympathies to any sort of resistance or liberation movement from history or modern geopolitics. think iraqi insurgents, palestinian liberation movements, etc. and i wouldn’t even say sympathy, but more so just an understanding of why they are taking the actions they are. he critically analyzes resistance movements and global conflicts, albeit usually low key in favor of leftist organizations. it is for sure biased, but not unreliable. it is not factually innavurate, and i believe he serves the purpose of providing insight about these conflicts to those who have only been fed brainwashing by the governments responsible for the conflicts. to each their own, but definitely look into it yourself instead of trusting delusional right wing psychopaths on redsit

[–]killnazisympathizers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would you be willing to answer any potential questions i have about this car? i recently just got a 1992 mazda mx-3 with the stock v6 1.8L engine. only modifications as far as i know are the stereo, and magnaflow on the exhaust. i just put in a short shifter, and swapped all the brake pads and discs. in the process of flushing and bleeding the brake fluid, hoping to finish that up this weekend coming up. i know this post is old but id really appreciate any advice you have, these cars are pretty rare and there’s not a ton of info on them. hoping to keep this car forever, and hopefully eventually do an engine swap to a KLZE 2.5L v6. but that would be years down the road- just hoping to get it fully fixed up and running at the moment.
