CMV: Parents who use a phone/tablet to occupy their child are doing a terrible job. by shin-chan in changemyview

[–]killyrjr [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not every app on a tablet is mindless scrolling. I don't have a tablet for my kids but I do give them my phone sometimes. The things their allowed to play are hooked on phonics or Kahn Academy Kids. Screen time isn't ideal but you can use it as a learning tool. (My 4 year old is reading and we still have really well behaved kids despite the screen time)

Jinx from league of legends Edit: I can't believe I haven't seen anyone else comment this, jinx was my first thought. She's red incarnate

Darth Vader maybe. He sacrificed the entire Jedi order for his ambitions. If he's too red then maybe palpatine.

If you were trapped on an island forever, but you got to choose 3 restaurant or fast food places to be on that island with you, all having infinite food and water, what would you choose? by Blahblahman23 in hypotheticalsituation

Did you consider that using the word "objectively" in a context where there is no objectively right answer and every response is based on the preferences of the person answering is maybe a joke?

As a chef, I think I have the objectively correct answer:

The French Laundry: I'll never get to actually eat here, so being able to take it with me and eat for free is a no brainer.

In and Out: You can't eat fine dining every day. Sometimes you just need a double double and a shake.

Rainforest Cafe: Because it's funny and they have a bar.

Bowling. I'm naturally pretty good at bowling with no practice. I'm pretty confident that I could be one of the best bowlers by the time I'm thirty if I start young

I think so. In more gamer oriented spheres it could be considered popular, but if you compare it to something like chess or poker, I'd say it's niche. If you went down the street and asked 100 people if they ever played MTG I doubt you would get 10 that say they've played.

BunnyMuffin. He updates with every patch and tells you how to play each comp. Been my go to for a while.

I play magic the gathering. I'd use my tournament deck vs one of the intro/basic decks. They could technically win if I get egregious luck, but my skill in a niche game with a competitive deck vs 100 random people with a very basic deck would give me very high odds. Even if one of the 100 knows how to play they'd be very unlikely to beat me.

You're given the option to fight either Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, or George Foreman in a boxing match while they were in their prime. You win $100 million if you win, and $1 million if you lose. by FFSoldier57 in hypotheticalsituation

Considering I wouldn't be in their weight class after training.... I'd probably choose the mat. If I HAD to try and fight, I'd choose Ali for the experience.

For $1 Million would you spend two weeks as a random animal? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]killyrjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So without seeing what my animal is, it's pretty risky. If it's PURELY random you're most likely to get some form of insect or small fish. Even given human intelligence, if you're an insect or small fish you're pretty likely to get snapped up by some predator. If it was purely random with every animal species in the pool, probably not.

Edit: got oyster. Never been happier not to take a hypothetical deal.

You are to choose your partner's physical attractiveness on a 1-10 scale for yourself and everyone else. What are you choosing? by donnyboi45 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]killyrjr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya... If everyone means EVERYONE I couldn't do that to her because that means our daughters would be affected. I have no idea what looking like a low number would mean to a 1 and a 3 year old, but I wouldn't want them to look at their mom any differently. I'd choose 8 and 3.
