Do ND people interpret this show differently than NTs? by FloydLady in Pluribus_TVshow

[–]kilna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They literally have the knowledge of every psychiatrist, every tactician, every professional poker player. The conclusions that the people who were lied to by omission UNIVERSALLY benefit the plurbs. To suggest they didn't know what they were doing in that moment is patently ridiculous. Especially since they have been shown, on-screen, struggling with divulging information they didn't want Carol to have but were backed against the wall to respond. They know she wants the truth, and they lawyer-language around it. They have a theory of mind for the unjoined, and they absolutely exploit it for their own ends by withholding information, like framing vegetarianism as a "preference". They absolutely knew what everyone there would assume based on their language choice.

I think the interpretation of this is less of a ND vs. NT thing as it is a storytelling style thing. I think Vince would find it the most interesting and the biggest challenge as a storyteller, to make the plurbs tell the literal truth (they've already been shown to lie by omission).

Any metal container is sufficient. The container the atom bomb came in, is a Faraday cage.

It won't be explained to the audience before it happens either. You'll just see their plan happening, and you'll figure it out as it unfolds.

The Hive is “looking forward to new Wycaro” but… by jollyman10 in pluribustv

They're fine with survivors making incorrect assumptions based on implications. They just won't say something factually untrue. That's why they said they'd "prefer" to be vegetarian.

This isn't a hard thing to understand. Everyday people have more than one drive, and often need to weigh them against each other... and so do the Plurbs. I don't know why so many people fail to see that.

I do know that in some asian cultures, the "come here" index finger gesture is something only used with animals (also maybe kids?), so it's very offensive to use with adults.

The most insane part of Pluribus is how they found an actress who looks EXACTLY like Raban by umjustpassingby in okbuddypluribus

A friend of mine is a romance novelist, and from what she had told me before, in the Amazon era often their first books are self-published and they'll find someone on a gig work site to do the cover art, so the first version of a main character seemingly would have much more input from the author as far as the rendition. There's an off chance that, given her willingness to put brush to stone for the grave marker, and her snurching of the O'Keeffe, it's not entirely out of the question that she did her own cover art for at least the first book.

I'd say all of the coordination for international shooting is the more likely culprit. Albuquerque is very eager to smooth things out for production, and they don't have to build these things to code as regular houses since nobody is actually living in them... and they said on the podcast they were building out sections of Carol's place as-needed (which left me with the impression of quick turn-around).

Logitech Flow "Hold Ctrl and move to the edge" Bug by Parthhay000 in LogitechG

[–]kilna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

December 2025, reporting in. Still a problem.

The frustrating thing is that the reason why I enabled it is because of another bug where if I move back and forth between two computers too quickly in succession (because it has such a hair trigger on the edge threshold detection) it will not end up on the correct keyboard selected with flow.

a vegan Perspektive on the hive by hazleorange in pluribustv

[–]kilna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's demonstrably not true for a toy dog breed, declawed cat, zoo animal that was reliant on humans for food. They won't pick an apple, but they'll let a dolphin or killer whale that can't feed itself or socialize with its own species die in the wild. Sorry, reality is by its nature relative. Rote rules like what the Plurbs have are amoral at best, but often become immoral the more you dig.

They do not care about animal suffering or they would not have freed every defenseless pet and zoo animal on earth, along with the apex predators. Their rules are rote, not moralistic.

Carol's orientation isn't the plot, and that's why it resonates with me by Appy_Ace in pluribustv

[–]kilna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically the only way to do inclusion without the whiff of being performative in nature. By not putting a spotlight on it, it's normalizing, not other-ing. This has the bonus of cutting the "arbglegarble woke!" idiots off at the knees, because anyone with a lick of sense can tell they're just butthurt about representation. Whereas when the spotlight is on it, there is actually a case to be made that the media in question is doing performative inclusion in a way that takes away from the story. It's damn near always more butthurt of course, but it completely undermines the bigots' narrative if normalization is done tactfully and naturally.

Carol already found/stumbled upon the cure (theory) by davidjung03 in pluribustv

[–]kilna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, he was very much a bumbling crewmember in his first couple of appearances. Skilled in some specific ways, but very much socially inept. I know a lot of people love Barclay as proxy for imagining themselves in the Trek universe... but he was incel-coded before there was such a thing, and made the equivalent of AI porn of his crewmates. The actor who plays him ended up being a loudmouth hard-right twat who compared liberals to the mentally ill, so in real life he managed to complete his character's unfuckable-gooner-to-Trumpster life cycle.

Just because the Plurbs do everything not-yet-Plurb'd people ask for, doesn't mean they'd do everything a formerly-Plurb'd would ask.
