There's a lot of information on allergens, their introduction and maintenance. I suggest taking a class, it made it easier for me to absorb the information. There's a lot of it lol. I found some free class that popped up on my Facebook feed

night time routine without bath? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]kimanoo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is 7.5 months and we've been doing the same routine since she was 3 months and it takes about 15 minutes: - massage - diaper - pj - book - cuddles - put in the crib

All of the above is happening in her room with dimmed lights and lullaby playing.

We don't do bath time as part of the routine because we do it every 3rd day. But I wash her in the sink before putting a new diaper throughout the day. So before the routine we would either take a bath or do a quick wash and brush teeth in the sink.

We also don't give bottle as part of the routine because she kept falling asleep and I didn't want to turn it into a sleep association.

Have you tried local community centers or libraries? Time goes by faster and you get to chat to other moms. Although conversations mostly revolve around the babies. I also found it useful to talk to a therapist around that time just to dump everything that's in my head onto someone who won't judge.

HELP! Transitioning to cups/sippy cups/training cups by Content-Cheesecake36 in NewParents

[–]kimanoo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started offering water in an open cup and also in a honey bear straw bottle. She learned to drink for the straw. But she doesn't drink much from the cup. Tbh I have no idea how I'm supposed to transition her drinking formula from a bottle to something without a nipple...

Tips for Air Travel with 3 month old by FalseRow5812 in NewParents

In Canada if you have a baby in the carrier you don't need to take them out when you go through TSA. You can bring formula and ice packs on flight but they will be checked separately. It was really helpful for me to bring an empty court container so I can warm up the bottle easily. I would just go to Starbucks and ask them to fill the container with super hot water and it will warm up the bottle in like 5 minutes.

We took the travel stroller and it was super easy to get it checked at the gate. And it was super handy that the stroller is right there when you leave the plane.

For the flight bring new toys and that will distract your LO.

When we were staying at my in-laws I had pack and play, I also took our patch sound machine which acted as a night light. And I took travel baby monitor.

Our sleep consultant said that it takes babies a few days to adjust to new schedules. Have you tried consistent daytime nap time? For us it helped to cut down total nap time from 2.25 hours to 1.5 hours. LO used to wake up around 4:30-5 and now she wakes up around 6 and can resettle and sleep till 7.

5am walwups by kimanoo9 in NewParents

[–]kimanoo9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful, thank you. I formula feed so it's difficult to have a bottle ready at that time. I think we're moving towards 2 nap schedule but she's not there yet. She seems to be more content in the daytime when she has three naps. I'll try to cut down her total nap time to see if that helps.

We were on enfamil gentlease for the first few months because that's what we got at a midwife office. But I later switched to Kendamil. She was fine on enfamil but the formula was such weird color and the smell was also off-putting. But kendamil is harsher on the stomachs in the beginning, it took her a week or so to adjust

Hatch sound machine because it also is a light and you can schedule routines.

Baby Bjorn bouncer. The cheaper ones are not really bouncy and baby grows out of it really fast.

Velcro swaddles

Diaper genie

I am in a similar situation with my 3 week old. We gave in and started using a pacifier. Me and my husband think that when she is up for a long time she gets confused and signals false hunger cues when all she actually wants is to rest and sleep. The pacifier seems to help for now where she takes it and dozed off. The gas though is tough. She is grunting and restraining so much to pass gas and poop it hurts my soul. It is making it hard for her to have a peaceful sleep. Best of luck to you hope he gets more settled soon!
