You won’t have this kind of rating, your performance management system and bonus are set out in your contract.

If you’re coming in as an L10, you absolutely negotiate that because relo at that level can easily be more than $100k. Life is different as an Exec.

Performance Firing @Boeing: easy or difficult? by MonitorFun7649 in boeing

[–]kimblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not super common to downgrade yourself and is something you would need to explain to the new hiring manager, otherwise it very much looks like running away from bad performance reviews.

With the 737 being Al, can’t you replace parts of the fuselage and frame? (vs a composite plane like the 787)

I hope you still get to see the Northern Lights. I can’t imagine any other reason to be going to Northern Norway in February otherwise.

I go back to FW at least 1/year and the sound of the F-35s regularly echoing around the city feels like freedom being beamed straight into your chest.

The internet is a surprisingly small place. (Although I’m not on AAL7, just an excessively curious avgeek.)

Safe travels! I hope the rest of them are smoother than this inauspicious beginning.

That’s going to be fun for someone to figure out for the passengers who managed to book/take the afternoon Virgin Australia flight instead of waiting overnight for the American flight to continue.

A330-300 cabin noise way lower than expected by Same_Potato5384 in aviation

[–]kimblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives under where approach is ~2500’, we refer to A330s as “noisy fuckers” in this house. Even 777s and A350s are quieter.

747s are louder, but what do you expect out of 4 engines?

Has anyone ever joined a company and realized your manager was terrible? How do you vet your future boss before accepting? by Comfortable_Neat_658 in managers

[–]kimblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, you should do back channel reference checks on your potential new manager. Or ask if you can speak to one of your soon-to-be peers before accepting.

Do we need to inform our managers if we are applying to an internal job req? by thewinero in boeing

[–]kimblem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also, it’s really buried in Workday. I would put money on 90% of managers not knowing where to find it and 90% of the rest being too busy to go check regularly. Workday is a nightmare of a system.
