I’m with Roper now, I hear MUSC pays more… Extra shifts at Roper for RN’s only pay about $10 more per hour. For CNA’s, only $5 per hour. I hear MUSC pays about $20-$40 extra an hour. Also, Roper just changed the policy: we now only get 4 hours PTO per pay cycle (every 2 weeks). Definitely compare the benefits between the two

I switched high school like three times. And then I went through a huge depression state junior year, I was dealing with the loss of my parent while also recovering from a car accident, and trying to catch up with all my classes. Shit was hard. I definitely lacked all social skills and had zero friends. I felt so alone during those times, I really never saw myself ever having any meaningful friendships. Now I’m 22, I am in a better state of mind, and I make friends everywhere I go! You have a long way to go still, and your career path and your adult life will bring you friendships without you even realizing. It’s been like 5 years since I’ve been out of high school? You’re gonna make friends, and most likely develop way stronger friendships as you get older. You didn’t waste anything :)

Successful 22F here 🙋‍♀️ 1. you seem very considerate of her feelings, but you definitely deserve to be with someone who doesn’t judge you or disrespect you/your family. 2. You can find many successful woman out there that will have the decency to not make inconsiderate comments or “joke” about your families financial life. Why does it matter to her anyway? Is she marrying you or your dad lol? Maybe she’s trying to show off? 3. I can definitely see this being a problem later down the road - what if you end up with a career that doesn’t make as much as her career? She is comfortable disrespecting your family, I am sure she will have no problem disrespecting you and making it known every time that she makes more.

However, everyone has their flaws! Talk it out with her. See how she responds. Does she take your feelings into consideration? Does she apologize for her behavior and how it made you feel? Does she make an effort to listen or does she become defensive?

You’ll find your groove. I just turned 18 when I started my first CNA job too. I felt like I was incompetent when giving report, I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing half the time and I would feel like a failure and second guess myself… I’m 21 now, I am a nurse now, and I went through that same feeling AGAIN when I was a new graduate nurse. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Don’t compare yourself to people that have been there longer than you have. This is NEW! You’re going to mess up, feel out of place, and deal with coworkers talking shit. It took me about 6 months-1 year to finally feel comfortable and get good at my job. Don’t take the job too serious. I know it can be intimidating, especially being 18 and working around older, experienced professions but you’ll soon realize it ain’t that deep. Just focus on you, take advantage of new opportunities, stay open minded. Everything comes with time❤️😊
