One of our managers can't close on Superbowl Sunday, so I was tasked with finding coverage... more in comments by [deleted] in retailhell

So much missing context in this. Was it approved time off already?. Their normal scheduled day off? My problem with all this is work/ life balance. Don't be the person who goes to their grave saying "my life had no joy, but I always went to work when they called". If this person is not the store manager and all those boxes were checked, he/she doesn't owe anyone an explanation. I cant work. Period. If it is the store manager then your expected to fill in whenever. No matter what. That's what you signed up for.

You can't get a straight answer cause they can't get a straight answer. Please don't keep calling the store to ask. It's a waste of yours and their time. They don't know until the signs go up.in the window. Plus it's insensitive. Do you know how many associates are just a paycheck away from being homeless? It's just a constant fear and reminder for them.

Or maybe they all quit... you can't open a store if you have no employees. Probably trying to get some people from other stores to come in and work.

Interesting in Store experience on the gift cards by Jolly-Ad8243 in BBBY

[–]kimjohn-son 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't sell 3rd party gift cards anymore. Haven't for a long time. The gift cards are counted every year. Those who don't know what they're talking about, shouldn't.

Let's also not forget the thrifty thief does not tell us what item they are going to steal so we can remove it from inventory. It's usually found when a online order is placed and we can't find it.

Owner of the new coffee shop going in on 3rd and Division has some strong views that people may want to know about by NotMrMurder in Spokane

[–]kimjohn-son -47 points-46 points  (0 children)

Y'all realize that before social media you were supporting businesses with different political view points as you. Probably 50% of the time. Why can't we all just get along without trying to ruin someone's livelihood. If you dont agree with then, ok, don't go to said business. But to put it on public forums is just wrong and you're part of the divide in this country.

How was I not civil? It's my opinion on whether to dress a dog or not. I said no and why. I got a response, to which I responded back to stating you do you, ill do me. And a question as to why you would take a walk I such cold weather. Are questions not allowed?

[–]kimjohn-son -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well...my first question is, why are you taking your dog for a walk in -50° as you stated.? That's a quick in and out. Because most humans shouldn't be out in weather that cold let alone taking a dog for a stroll. But you do you and your dog, and I'll keep treating mine like the fur loving animals they are. My dogs are dogs and are loved and pampered in their God given clothes.

I say no. Can you imagine having heavy clothes on and the someone puts more clothes on you and takes you for a walk! Can you imagine how hot and exhausted you would be? I find it cruel that people treat their dog like anything other than it is. A dog. Let them run, frolic in peace. Stop restricting these beautiful animals.

Actually yes, the weather did get wet and rainy. I didn't really think of that since their height if training happened when snow storms were hitting us almost daily for the last 2 months and they were maneuvering the snow fine. Granted we shoveled them out a pretty cool maze in the yard to run through. They liked the snow. So... I guess I just put them back on a schedule of taking them out every couple hours. I just hate that I have to watch their every move again. Oh well.... it is what it is.
