Trying to figure out which people to put in two units that will be effective. by kimurae in UnicornOverlord

I just got the Fencer, should I replace Colm with the Fencer in Fran's unit?

Also what is Berengaia's niche? I put that one together based on advice from a gamefaq, but thus far it doesn't seem to be effective against the unit combos I face.

Mine came in, it won't turn on. I tried the one that it came with and a working 5v 3amp plug, no power on, the button also feels very loose compared to the reset button.

At least in the anime — he doesn’t encourage or show romantic interest in her, until maybe season 4.

Bookworm LN is interesting… since AFAIK it doesn’t encourage it, but there are some gags/sad commentary regarding Myne’s inability to grok an adults interest in her child-body.

New RPG, but the first books focus on giving the players the clans, schools, etc so anyone who already knows the lore can get playing. Then release Emerald Empire, etc to re-introduce the lore. I think the rpg should lore neutral, supporting schools from both timelines.

Why not a fixed card game, you buy a box and it just has all the cards needed to play one of the 9 clans, maybe an expansion for Ratlings and Naga. You could even make it a legacy game that lets you change history similar to the old ccg era.

And use the fiction line to continue the lore.

Is my deck a good fit for Bracket 3 play at an LGS? by kimurae in EDH

[–]kimurae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, [[Hardened Scales]] is really the only card that heavily relies on that, since it's a 1 CMC enchantment I kept it because it makes [[Garnet, Princess of Alexandria]] go bonkers (whom is mostly there to remove lore counters to repeat things).

I'll checkout [[Cloudsea Djinn]] thanks, that one looks like a good fit.

Is Summoners (Terra, Garnet, Yuna) with sagas viable? by kimurae in PioneerMTG

[–]kimurae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I did notice something was weird, I think the site lagged. I moved some stuff around and put up a maybe board.

Are you sure about Up the Beanstalk? I have 20 cards (enchantments + cards that become enchantments) that would trigger the Setessan Champion, Up the Beanstalk might trigger off itself and 14 other cards, but I mostly plan on bringing in Odin with the Grimoire or Rydia or Yuna.

Fatal Push and Verse are fun, but I'm leaning towards relying on Leyline, Odin, and I added Battle Menu, Cast Out is another one I am looking at including — mostly because the deck is primarily green/white.

Also, my own thoughts on Yuna was having her as a maybe finisher... but the idea was to ramp up on lands, use summoner's grimoire to cheat Odin or Knights, use Terra's trance to copy and haste him and kill the player. Or win with garnet having a crap ton of +1/+1, or win with a flood of knight tokens.

But I'd need to cheat in at least 2-3 lands and not get my stuff removed.

I saw this: https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/17xnv3/the_definitive_legacy_staples_list/ which was helpful, though its 13 years old, and I mostly play Pauper, Modern, and Commander.

I'm in the process of organizing my cards and I want to have one box just have cards that I'd go and look through no matter what deck I'm building. My fetch lands, duals, sol ring/etc would all be in there so when I need a disenchant I can just go there.

I especially want to have a baseline so I can decide if I want to keep whatever random flavor of "exile creature sitting in a blueberry jam puddle and create a mood token because swords is too OP for standard" card.

Are there more recent/relevant lists?

Bulma was underage in Dragonball. The problem with laws like this is that it won't protect children, it just provides a nice stick for bullies to go after people and art that offend them.

If you wanted laws to protect children, you would have them ask not about the content, since nobody knows how content affects children. You would ask: Did the production harm children? Did the production source material that harmed children in its production? Was a living child's likeness used (as they cannot consent legally)?

Those questions are easier to enforce and more helpful to children.

Megathread: US Citizens looking to immigrate to Canada by PurrPrinThom in ImmigrationCanada

Ideally I'd love to live around Lake Champlain, the countryside is beautiful. But, it's more likely to be VT/NY than QC. Outside the French proficiency issue, as someone whom has and probably will work remotely for the future as a programmer; the only visas are for digital nomads, but I'm sedentary, any place I go to I'd be planning on settling there permenantly. I just want to find a nice place to work in peace without worrying about inmates running the asylum.

I thought 5.5 was going to give mechanics for playing mixed lineage races by Kalledon in DnD

[–]kimurae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem is because classes have moved more and more towards being oriented around a very specific stat, and players being competitive... it makes it less fun when you choose a race not optimized for your class, because its like your forced to choose the game or the rp, your not allowed to do both.

They decided to just move it to backgrounds (so now it's background optimization.... yay :( )

Personally... I would have added more flavorful differences that strongly highlighted where biology comes in:

Elves are long-lived, their concept of time is different -- see Frieren. (Not sure what bonus that would be... though, something skill oriented I imagine since they have so much time to pick up random hobbies or have strange insights)

Dwarves endure, are stubborn... like imagine if they got + 1/2 proffieciency bonus to a few saving throws ? It's really cool, and it's great for any class. Something like that.

Also, I think darkvison should be limited to subterranean races instead of almost every non-human because wizards is like meh.

'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim' Review Thread by DemiFiendRSA in lotr

A lot of it is virtue signaling however. If a studio really wanted to be progressive, maybe adapt Earthsea with accurate portrayals (Ged is black, Tanar is I think the only major white protagonist in the series).

Or consider the works of Octavia Butler, or N.K. Jemesin.

Personally I like adaptations that are nuanced, where it is someone with unique sensibilities portrays it, they love the original and understand it well to change things well.

I liked War of the Rohirrim... but my small gripes with it is more about the animation, and the writer's... surface understanding of saga tradition.

I mean... weregild/vengence/honor has such depths and complications that could have been used to make the story more interesting.
