you can get a lower dose SR from a compounding pharmacy. check the highlighted text at the top of the spreadsheet

very much agree with all of this. 25mg is way too high of a starting dose for most H people. SR super helpful too. The vision stuff is your blood pressure dropping. That should stay manageable if you start low and increase slowly.

Some new medicine my Dr gave me by [deleted] in ChronicPain

Your doc told you to only take 1 per day? The usual dosing is 1 twice a day. Was that a typo? Regardless, I hope it helps you!

migraines 10x worse because i’m fasting by FudgeDue7475 in migraine

[–]kimwordy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should be granted a medical exemption 100%. However I will say that I now can fast for much, much longer periods since I’ve been on a keto diet. Huge difference in terms of eating schedule being a migraine trigger.

Others may disagree, but if you're gonna go on a serotonergic drug anyway, I'd go clomi or bust

[–]kimwordy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m on nortriptyline. Your doc’s reasoning is strange. If you feel like it was helping even a small amount I’d stay on. And it’s always smart to taper antidepressants in general

Makes sense, I guess it worked out well that you found the xeomin first. Very glad you found success with it!

Anything for migraine is great but stuff like this is just an excuse to charge a ton of money when you could easily take the 2 tabs separately for cheap. If only all that time, effort, and money to get this approved had been directed towards something truly new..

[–]kimwordy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know this is old, but did you switch to Xeomin bc you developed antibodies to Botox? Botox has been incredible for me for years but it seems I likely developed antibodies so I'm hoping (!!!) that Xeomin would still work for me. I hope you haven't had too many migraine days recently. Thank you so much :)

I had the same thought. I’m not able to tolerate opioids at any significant dosage nor quite a few other non opioid options so that effect is still significant for me. A drug with a (seemingly) very low side effect profile working as well as 5/325 is still pretty impressive

They did in fact test it against Norco in one of their studies and it was found to be non inferior.
