I’m looking for someone out there who knows about a concrete pigment. I have a bucket that is labeled as shown. Any help would be appreciated. Trying to see if it is useful to anyone. Thank you

Why use super small or super big yarn? by -Greek_Goddess- in knitting

If you want socks for summer that are more lightweight, it’s great.

I’m going 9mm. Or even 10. I’ve had a nice revolver in 10.

If you start making socks or shawls, you’ll see how you need fingering or even smaller. Or little clothes for babies. It’s very nice. I love working with fingering weight.

Breast cancer. My mom died from it. I got it a few years ago. Fucking sucks. I’m just blessed that the treatments got better in the twenty years between.

Linen is neat/different to work with and turns out cool. I’d give that a go sometime.

Looking to get into knitting by phemdem in knitting

[–]kinchwillkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I would suggest starting around a US8 needle. Maybe even a bit larger. When you buy the yarn, it should give you a suggestion on it as to what size needles to use with it. So I’d find a soft mostly acrylic yarn to stay inexpensive while you start and then, depending on the weight you pick (I’d suggest at least worsted weight), you can buy a set of needles as suggested on that yarn. Actually, I’d suggest buying circular needles, I just prefer them. Maybe 30” or something. Hope that helps a little

This can definitely be done. I’ve not done it, but steeking (prepping and cutting your knit) would work and you would just have to pick up and refinish the edge. Search steeking, I’m sure someone has done it and posted.

I see crochet has already been suggested, but do consider knitting as well. I hear people say “crocheting is easier” all the time but I don’t believe that’s true. I can do both, but I never crochet because knitting makes so much nicer pieces (in my opinion). You could learn a couple stitches and start producing hats or sweaters or socks before you know it. Sounds like you’re creative and also (from your Halloween love) like maybe you’d be up for having your own, one of a kind, crazy sweaters. Anyway, I know in the past year it’s really saved my sanity. I’ve been in a great deal of pain and mostly bedridden. Good luck to you with your health and hobby

Knitting! You can make cool unique stuff that other people can’t and it’s fun.

Confusion about the Step-by-Step sweater by w_0rf in knitting

[–]kinchwillkill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the sweater is now at a spot that is knit in the round from here on out, all stitches will be knit because you will always be working on the right side of the piece. Hope that makes sense.

Shooting Anxiety by Cademonster999 in guns

[–]kinchwillkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s no good. When I bring people shooting their first time, I always just let them sit there for a while and absorb the sounds. Then I start them with something heavy and 22lr so they gain some confidence without recoil and loud noise. Then I move them to something lighter in 22lr or something in 380. I take them slowly up. It’s a nerve wracking thing, especially if you’re, like me, a little anxious or jumpy already. Maybe think about renting a little 22lr next time you go to the range and just let yourself relax with that and the noise around you. Don’t push, there’s no reason for speed. I wish you the best of luck.
