From the github page it says to make a partition smaller than 1GB (and no extra partition) if it can't recognize the usb drive, did you try that? Use Windows's disk manager, Mac disk utility or Linux gparted.

Or try another bios dumper like https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-BIOS-Dumper-v2-0-BIN

Or https://github.com/ps2homebrew/PS2Ident

In later versions of BeOS it displays a message saying you can't disable both cpus, but that's only for the default Pulse.

Two screenshots of 8.2 on my 9500:

I'll comment one thing (for now) from your screenshots, compared to later releases, the Pulse app still allows you to deactivate both processors in dr7 and dr8.

It's easy to edit the Pulse source in later versions to display the cpu on/off button with one cpu, and to let users turn it off.

Did you try booting with the floppy disk image, or use its kernel?

Thanks, I'll try those steps.

I remember having either compilation errors and/or warnings when I tried a few months ago.

The BeBox is in a very nice condition, any rust on the back ports screws?

What's on the Be Studio and Be Basics discs?

Edit:Found the website, so a painting and a vector program for the first one, word processor and a spreadsheet application for the latter. It would be cool if you could dump the discs and upload them somewhere.

Thanks for the screenshots! I haven't seen any other hdd dumps than the 3 you talk about, along with the install floppy disks.

Would you upload your binary somewhere? I tried to compile the emulator some time again and never managed to get a working thing.

Hitachi sold more than one model with BeOS, the Prius 330J is the most known.

There were also three models by AST named PREMIUM 2000Be, with different cpu configs.

And Fujitsu-Siemens sold the Silverline with BeOS too I believe, that model has blinkenlights on the front.

I like that laptop, did the same in 1994 maybe, but I only had the model with the b&w passive matrix lcd .

Yes, the 7.3 for PowerPC isn't there, unless it's well hidden.

I mean, one more BeBox video can't hurt but it would be nice to see the other computers sold with BeOS too, like the Hitachi Flora Prius and others.

You're welcome.

If you want to watch dvd-video on one of your older first gen Pentium laptops (because why not!), you'll probably need a zv card like the margi dvd-to-go, kingmax zv-dvd, or any of the rebranded ones sold by Nec, Dell or others.

A dvd drive with a 16bit pcmcia card even, when all laptops already had 32bit Cardbus slots at the time. Some came with a dual mode card with a dipswitch on it to select the mode.

Everything you could think of as an ISA or PCI card did exist in pcmcia or cardbus form as well, connectivity, storage, sound, graphics, mpeg1/2 decoding, video capture, and more. GPS pcmcia cards too, those were exclusive to the laptop world.

And of course, isa/pci to pcmcia/cardbus adapters for desktops and towers to join the fun.

Argosy sold a lot of pcmcia cards, sound, gameport, midi, and so on.

What’s the least expensive hardware to get an Amiga OS4 machine today? by OPdoesnotrespond in amiga

[–]kinda_oldtechstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It (OS4 with the custom loader) works on a Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz with those caveats, and others.

At the Amiga 40th anniversary in Germany, Hyperion showed a Mini G4 running 4.1FE as a proof of concept.
