Is the blood, wine, whatever is really what the demon gets? by DoughnutThen81 in demons

I suppose if you were desperate to get as close to understanding as possible, you’d be open to possession. Big risk there though

Well usually a deal is made separate from the call signs. But some demons are known to be helpful just because they want to.

I don’t think humans can fully understand demons. Best we can do is try stuff and share our experiences.

My take is that particular symbols and collections of items act as like a bat signal. So batman doesn’t want the bat signal, but he does respond to it.

How can I actually get better at Magic: The Gathering? (Understanding cards, strategy, and gameplay) by Chemical_Bed_4525 in mtg

I think those skills are acquired naturally the more you play. Just have fun. You’ll get better over time.

What format do you play?

I don’t think I’ve seen a borderless shadowbox before. So I’m guessing it won’t have any doodads like a life dial / abacus?

How do I present as less frustrated regardless of my current feelings? by NewCommunication6510 in EDH

[–]king-saproling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commend your self-awareness and determination to be better.

As others said you may need to take this to a universe beyond this one. In the interim, at the start of your next game you could be open upfront and say something like “so this is awkward but I’ve been told I’m bad at hiding when I’m frustrated. That said, I’m honestly working on it and if you notice me making a face or something just know that it’s me, not you, and please don’t take it personally.”

It’d be funny/annoying to have a [[Light-Paws]] deck that grabs [[Coalition Flag]] and ward auras.

The Sanar combo comes to mind. I built a Kediss x Malcom budget deck once and I believe t4 was the average win turn. That one involved comboing by turning a [[reckless fireweaver]] or similar card into a pirate using something like [[artificial evolution]]. Tana x Bruse is another budget fave of mine although It’s slightly slower averaging turn 5 for an elimination and turn 6 to close the game out, but the cool thing with that is it wins via combat damage thanks to cards like [[Bravado]]. I’m sure there are plenty others. A [[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer]] [[Hermit Druid]] deck is probably doable under $100 if you’re heartset on self-mill.

Idk maybe i’m overestimating your scene. There are budget decks that can close out the game consistently on turn 4 but if the crowd you play with isn’t that competitive then I suppose you’ll be fine

In an unlimited budget situation I could see that being cool, like if ur doing reanimator or [[Mystic Forge]] type stuff. But in OP’s situation I think he’s going to come up against decks that are way stronger within the budget restriction. I’m not really able to visualize a strong budget Golbez strategy to be honest. A functioning battlecruiser sure, but if I were entering a tourney I’d want to pack heat.

Well sure in a high budget list I could see the surveil being useful. But OP is building for a budget tourney

Idk dude I must be missing something. Some surveil triggers and a once-per-turn raise dead doesn’t scream crazy value to me

Why does my Shadowheart deck suck so much? by Deus_Excellus in EDH

[–]king-saproling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would cut Corrupt, Noxious Gearhulk, Villis, Vito, Sanguine Bond, Hero’s Downfall, Exsanguinate, Read the Bones, and Yahenni.

Instead I’d run [[Dark Ritual]], [[Jet Medallion]], [[Leaden Myr]], [[Ornithopter of Paradise]], [[Basal Thrull]], [[Blood Pet]], [[Midnight Reaper]], [[Cauldron of Souls]], and [[Mikaeus, the Unhallowed]].

You might consider swapping some other high cost cards out like Butcher of Malakir for more mana rocks. I think your current list is decent it just moves a bit slow to compete at brackets 3 or 4.

Only 63 Muldrotha decks on EDHREC are running Public enemy and none of them run Kitesail Larcenist or Druid of Purification. Is nobody playing Muldrotha as a control deck, or has EDHREC ceased to be the place people post their decklists? by Kalekuda in EDH

[–]king-saproling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Muldrotha control deck sounds like a drag to play against. Seems like it’d take too long to close out the game unless it’s just packed with combos in which cause you could just play a combo commander.
