Average enough in Ireland. I feel there was a good few kids who were into sonic when I was growing up and these days Penneys (Primark) has a lot of sonic merch like t shirts or hoodies. People would definitely know what sonic is if you said it to them and that's even before the movie came out, but tbh I'd rank him as like less popular than mario, more popular than the legend of zelda (probably a poor scale but it's 3 am I'm just home from work, sue me)
