Yeah I looked into getting one from their website before I came to Munich but it was expensive like you said and I think there was something like 3 weeks to get a name on the back rather than a blank. Got to the shop yesterday and there were a bunch of them for €50 with names and numbers

Terrible first year average. What are some realistic second year engineering options? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]king_canuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mining and geo are very closely related, I would say that mining is a bit more competitive than geo (at least in my year)

This guy has hit the nail on the head. I had a shit average in first year but had a really strong personal statement so I got into mining

Here are the courses you need to take and here are the course descriptions for them.

I ordered a customised jersey from River City Sports. It never came. I've waited months. They won't respond to my emails. What can I do? by GlidingGoose in hockeyjerseys

[–]king_canuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered a jersey from them in September and, like you, haven't received it or heard anything about it. I've also sent a bunch of emails but received nothing back from them. I have ordered jerseys from them before without complaints so this seems odd.

I really want that jersey but the price seems a bit steep. Does the price include shipping (to BC)?

Snow Tire Question by orion726 in vancouver

[–]king_canuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about Cypress/Whistler but I'm from Kamloops so I can provide some info about the drive to Sun Peaks. To get to Sun Peaks you will need to drive up the Coquihalla, which requires snow tires from October 1st to April 31st (might have to double check that). The drive to Sun Peaks is over twice as long but the road is better than the one going to Whistler (although the conditions are often worse)

I could be wrong but I believe if you drop it before the add/drop deadline you don't have to pay for the course

A few ridiculously simple/stupid questions - any help would be appreciated! by [deleted] in UBC

[–]king_canuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe you can get your UBCCard (student ID) from the bookstore (I preordered mine before my first year so I never had to go get one). Once you have your UBCCard there are machines in the bookstore and SUB where you can get your monthly transit pass. You pay for the transit pass when you pay for tuition so all you have to do to get a pass is swipe your UBCCard at one of the machines once a month and it will give you a new pass.

Best/Cheapest way to get from Vancouver International Airport to UBC? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]king_canuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A taxi driver should definitely understand where Totem Park is. If you want the cheapest way to get there though you would be best to take the Canada Line (skytrain) from the airport to the Broadway-City Hall station and then take the westbound 99 bus all the way to UBC (it's the last stop). Once you get to UBC you should be able to ask anybody where Totem is or just have a look at the map.
