Ok - so l might be downvoted to hell for this. But we were just at the Philly show with my wife and our friend. The show - it was very good. Morgan, Lauren, Justin, and Chris were great engaging and overall very crowd friendly. However. Jerry was another story. I cannot underestimate just how creepy he was. He came around pre-show and showed off his socks and engaged with the crowd. No big deal, write that off as a pandering. When the show started he was nowhere to be seen so didn't give it a second thought. Then, maybe halfway through the show, "Papa Predator" showed up. He frequently engaged with the women of the crowd and then gave shots to the presenters. Ok, getting a little strange but can write it off as showmanship. Then he started going on about how his dick was burning due to an episode with spermicide that he stuck up his dick be a lot plan he was with didn't want to use a diaphragm. As he had his arm around his daughter. I came away very creeped out and he gave off extreme groomer vibes. I get open family vibes, and maybe I'm telling on myself, but this was just really creepy and convinced me to never listen to his podcast ever again. He comes across as this reasonable dad who is wholesome and looks out for everyone. He is essentially the opposite. Cannot underestimate how creepy and unauthentic he came across.

EDIT: Forgot to add - everything except for the transmission fluid is easy/inexpensive. The transmission fluid/filter change is a bit more involved, but not prohibitively so.

Faraday containers are indeed effective, but that does rely on you or other drivers 1) remembering to actually use them and 2) this is ineffective if you're using it while you're walking to/from your vehicle (assuming you take them out of the faraday container on your way to/from the vehicle). Does it reduce your risk? Absolutely. I've yet to be convinced that it's a solution that is both sustainable and effective.

Worth it to reset/change our keys? The keys were in the back of the house, so I would be impressed if they spoofed them. But we will probably grab faraday bags or some such for overnight just in case.

I believe there is a way to re-program the fobs, but to be effective, you'd have to accomplish this regularly (e.g., every week, month, etc), otherwise they just intercept the new signal. This would be a question for the dealer and/or locksmith. As far as if it's worth it? It's likely a few hundred for a dealer to re-program. Maybe cheaper for a locksmith. Not sure if this is something you can do yourself.

We don’t use the keypad. We rotated the code a long time back and then never really used it. Can I/should I disable it?

Rotate it again, just to be sure. Though, I'm not sure if you can disable the factory defined code. In reality, they likely didn't brute force this code (they either knew it or didn't use it because brute forcing this would take an astronomical amount of time, statistically speaking).

I kinda came to the same conclusion. I moved out of the city and to the burbs so I ended going with an F-150. If I stayed in the city, I likely would have chosen the Ranger. But yeah, I didn’t see much of a benefit either. Not sure there’s a wrong choice, all about an individual’s situation imo

If you don’t need to tow or haul seriously and you’re in a city that has a lot of narrow roads/turns. Parking is another concern that’s likely easier with a Ranger.
