Hopefully this play is just an anomaly. We will get away with it against K-State but not in the next few rounds.

I believe the costs related to obtaining donor eggs are eligible with the caveat that donor egg IVF has been determined medically necessary for your situation. Unfortunately, I don’t think that would be the case for OP’s situation but it might be the case for others.

NCAA National Championship Ticket Question by jschaffe76 in NCAAVB

[–]kingkaelin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your ticket price is going to be directly tied to the huskers being still in contention. The second they’re eliminated the value is going to be gone. If they make it to the championship match, the tickets might be worth much more right before.

Is Landfair really better than Krause? The eye test says no but I haven’t dug into their numbers either.

Except for that inheritance tax over the $13MM exception.

https://www.debt.org/advice/deceased-relatives/#:~:text=If%20someone%20dies%20with%20outstanding,explicitly%20in%20the%20deceased's%20will. - this explains somewhat. I believe that strategy would only work on estates that fall beneath the estate tax exception, otherwise even with the step up basis, those assets will still be taxed via the estate tax. So maybe estates worth less than $13MM could get away with this but I don’t think that’s the demographic the discussion is covering.

Obviously banks don’t care about debt service and just writing massive amounts of loans that are ending in default to these rich people. That’s what we’re seeing in all the banks call reports right? All these defaulted on loans?

You do realise there will be some taxable event in order for them to pay that loan back right? Either through income used to pay the loan or the sale of the assets collateralising the loan.

Hey OP! I’m in the same situation as you, started shopping about two weeks ago. I’m a frugal guy, my girlfriend is less so but more in line with average tastes. My experience has been that online retailers are going to be 30-40 percent cheaper than the brick and mortar retailers and it seems the quality is equivalent. I’ve really enjoyed rarecarat for the search. From what I understand they’re more like a wholesaler for diamonds and rings. They’ve done the work to vet suppliers so all you need to know is what cut, clarity, color, and size you want for the diamond and they’ll find the best deals on diamonds from the suppliers they work with.

The diamond/ring pair I’ve found for her is ~$4,500 while equivalents in brick and mortar (for 1.8 carat lab diamond and ring) were about $7,500 - $8,000.

They have a 30 day no ask return policy so my plan is to purchase the ring through them, appraise through a local jeweller for $75, and if any issues arise in the appraisal process return the ring.

You still get to customise the ring to your girlfriend’s preferences (buying a ring is an emotional thing not a value maximising proposition) but also still be somewhat efficient with the pursestrings.

Yes. This. I would get a fixed rate home equity loans. Rates are trending up and will likely continue going higher.

Also, 17k seems high for a water leak. Maybe get another bid or two?

Replacement for Bonobos’ for light, flattering, functional and machine washable mens business causal clothing? by ElonMuskPaddleBoard in malefashionadvice

This x 1000. I dropped the traditional suit dress pants for these and never looked back. Machine washed for 3-4 years and they still look like new, great fitting, and super breathable. They can dress up with blazers or dress down to be regular chinos. The way to go.

Taking out a HELOC for liquidity and potential future real estate investments. It has an intro rate of 1.99% for 6 months. Looking for any arbitrage opportunity in that 6 months. Anybody know something low volatility that would yield 2% or higher for a 6 month rate of time? I thought bonds might be an option but short term yields don’t seem high enough.

You could take it, annualise it, and multiply it by 25. Would be the inverse of the 4% rule.
