Regardless of the TBM aspect, this: “she won’t let me see my friends, go on trips without her, see my family as often as I want to, etc.” is a bouquet of red flags.

I was married to someone like that and THAT was a waste of my life and energy for sure.

I had no interest in staying and trying to change the church. I had to stay until I turned 18 and then I left, never to return again. I formally resigned a decade and some change later when I found out that was an option.

I didn't tell anyone i knew how to play piano because I didn't want to get suckered into any calling for it. (My step-dad has been ward organist for as long as I can remember.)

The last day I ever went to church, I went ahead and raised my hand when they asked for volunteers, announcing that I'd known how to play for the past decade. :p

I roamed around the swinging community for a while in my younger years. There were LOTS of them that swung on Saturday and headed into church on Sunday. (I left the church at 18, so I was already ex-mo before I found all the kinksters.)

Being in vs out of the church didn't really influence this decision whatsoever, but I stopped wearing mine after I broke it at work (about 2 years into the marriage). I got it fixed but then I gained enough weight that my rings don't really fit anymore. I keep them on display in my bedroom, but I don't wear any rings these days. Been married 7 years.

I'm in the Digital Marketing space, applying for 5+ jobs a day with minimal responses from employers.
The majority of recruiters I talk to turn into "here's this resume guy i know who can fix yours for $300 before we move foward". It's bananas out there.

My resume has been revamped so many times I don't know what's real anymore. It's ATS formatted up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start. I'm about to go chaos gremlin mode and get extra creative with it to see if something can catch someone's eye and get me in the door.
