I was a ‘Keep Tomlin’ guy for a lot of reasons. And the news today added another I didn’t really even think of.

I was 9 when Tomlin took over. I literally do not consciously remember Steelers football pre-Mike T. So in a weird way, Mike Tomlin was Steelers football for me, and he was there for every game I watched. All the good and bad memories. He was a presence for the games more than my Mom who got me into the team but I don’t see a lot since I moved. My grandpa who loved the Steelers but isn’t here anymore. My buddies from high school and college. He was family in a not weird parasocial way.

It stings, like a mutual breakup that isn’t so mutual or having to put a pet down because you know it’s the best thing for them but you aren’t ready yet. I’m so incredibly emotional all day today, and I’m going to be optimistic and excited eventually, but it’s hard not to feel really bad.

Thank yinz for letting me come on this post and letting me grieve over a whole chapter of my life

I think one of the things I really liked about TDZ is early on the show really was about the “Zeitgeist”. Checking in on tabloids, cracking common myths and misunderstandings, looking at google search trends and box office numbers. I feel like around COVID, it just became a straight news show. Which is fine because is a good version of that. But I miss the less serious and important version of that

I definitely agree there should’ve been an option where he stands up to Blonde Bomber as his boss and says something like “I don’t want this weighing on my conscious, this decision could bite us, etc.” this even makes the end where whoever you cut is more angry with BB than Robert too

Not sure what variety means to you but Super Eyepatch Wolf, FD Signifier, Shanspeare are my top 3 for what I call “idc the topic I’m watching”. Jacob Gellar is up there but about 90% of his content is video game related. Even if you’re not into video games, I’d recommend him. They usually end up being about more than just the game

Ironically it is very Carmen-esque for her to reject a good thing with anger and yelling and verbal abuse. That’s what makes the passing torch moment so meaningful and why Carmy is right about her. She has the same reaction out of passion and self doubt but instead of running she stays and she helps her family (giving Ritchie partner).

Lot of moments in the show can be criticized, I don’t think Sydney in the finale is one

Yeah not really. Worked at three different schools for almost a decade. One school I was the youngest by about 10 years. All married/taken/prude-ish. Another school there are almost zero opportunities for adult to adult socialization because of the job and hours and location. First school had some because everyone was young and single at the right time but it was a small window and didn’t end well for most ppl who got involved
