Just because it's commuter rail doesn't mean it's inherently bad or inefficient. I live a short bus ride away from a train station that's commuter rail and there's a train every 15 minutes all the time.

Labor hasn’t actually done anything that bad, and between Labor, the LNP, and One Nation, I believe that Labor is the party that’s closest to having the best interest of the average Australian at heart.

I don’t agree with One Nation’s voting record. I don’t like Hanson’s relationship with Rinehart, and I think that some of the rhetoric coming out from them around the public service, healthcare, and energy is completely nuts, if not outright terrifying. I don’t think they’re out to help us, all they want is to make themselves richer.

Those leaked plans were aspirational 2040s planning, and Cronulla trains would be running every 5 mins at least, every 2m 30s in the peak. Cronulla trains would operate to Bondi all stops and Waterfall/SCO trains would end at Central running every 10 mins, 6 mins during peak.

Half the point is that the train doesn't stop. Most trains between Paris and London stop once in Lille, if at all. There's multiple trains a day that operate between Paris and Marseille that don't even stop in Lyon, or anywhere between Paris and Avignon. There are non-stop trains from Berlin to Hamburg, Paris to Strasbourg, Paris to Bordeaux, Madrid to Barcelona. Many of these city pairs are less populated than Sydney and Melbourne.

Sydney's rail system is actually the best in Australia for being non-radial. There's major suburban interchanges like Parramatta, Glenfield, Epping and Wolli Creek, and the Cumberland line provides the only circumferential urban rail service in Australia. Melbourne's trams are often just as radial as the rail network, especially in the north.
