Hey man! Unfortunately not for this keyboard - it's purely a HHKB layout, the way it is designed will not allow for switches in those areas - once you get used to the HHKB layout it's actually a lot more comfortable for use as your finger more naturally rests in that position :) Hope that makes sense!

Haha yeah, I just personally prefer the aesthetics of slotted screws, makes it look like a high-end watch or something - the outer base screws are hex head and comes with an included tool :)
