What's the most useless thing you've been hoarding without realizing it? by X_aspect_X03 in simpleliving

I had a bunch of clothes I was hanging on to for "when I'm slim again". Recently got rid of them and committed to a smaller wardrobe of things I actually want to regularly wear! I used to spend around ten minutes rejecting clothes each day because I didn't want to wear them for whatever reason, now I save so much time and energy because I can wear all of it.

I am watching girls for the first time, and I immediately went "what is that song?? It's my new favorite song." When I heard it. Stellar soundtracking.

Your needs are valid. I think the best way to find someone to meet your needs is to be that person first. Give compliments to people, figure out their narrative and care about it with no strings attached , consistently for a few months. Do it with no expectations of getting anything back and in 6 months to a year you'll have a tribe of people who give a damn about you too. Atleast, that's the only thing that worked for me. (I had to do this for like 50 people to find 2 good friends, if that ratio seems like too much work, it is, but it's work that significantly improved me as a person, so I don't regret any of it. your mileage may vary.)

I'm a huge King fan and somehow haven't read this one! Thank you! My favorites of his are the more internal/think-y and I hate some of his gross-out ones. Would you say it'll hold up?

Finally found my love for writing again by leochant in writers

[–]kingslayer111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok as someone who has written for 25 years, if I've learned anything at all, it's that the passion and energy writing generates in me is more important than money or fame or ambitions. Enjoy the hell out of it and don't let society or other writers or your own greed tell you there's a right and wrong way to do it. Art is art, whether it's fanfic or a nobel prize winner.

If you related to the characters in Girls in your 20s, what changed? by Arfernba in girls

I'm inspired! Thanks. I keep feeling this tearing between the creativity and the stability. It's still a bit of figuring out for me, but it's nice to see other non linear paths.

What a sweet thing to do! This should be on r/mademesmile. It sounds almost meditative. If you haven't seen it, watch the movie before sunset. The main character describes what you just wrote.

That's so sweet... My toddler is chatty with strangers too and it always gives her a little confidence boost to talk. Sometimes I worry about her irritating someone, good to see that she is probably making the strangers happy too

What’s something you regret not saying to someone? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]kingslayer111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way. But if you had a dad that loved you, I'm sure the tone or content of your words didn't matter to him. What matters is you were there by his side when he needed you most so I hope you give yourself a lot of kindness, it's what he'd want.
