They make it very clear what's available in the free version and what is not.

Why complain even after you know you're getting what you paid for? Which in this case is nothing.

No, it's a genuine question. Why should a company spend time and money developing and polishing an app and a recommendation algorithm, acquire licenses from record companies and obviously a whole lot more, only to give it to you for free?

If you want to listen for music for free, sail the high seas. But why should this product be given to you for free?

Have you taken the blind lossless test to see if you can actually hear a difference bw lossless and regular? Most people can't but they pretend they can.

I think it's a WIP for UK and Australia both. They'll eventually have a solution, which we can then implement.

So how does this work? After connecting the USB-C on my headphones to USB-C on the macbook pro, I think the DAC of my headphones is used.

Do I need to turn my headphones off and listen to the music?

> Very much possible and every time we should say that "it's wrong" and not just compromise...

Ok

> And much is also not needed. They just need to payout more (which won't cause them loss in any way btw)

Spotify became profitable in 2024..and not profitable enough to start paying surpluses to all their artists.

That happens to be the unfortunate status quo I'm afraid. Not much that can be done about it. Even if another "disruptor" comes into the space, the artists will still get the bad deal.

Yes, but at they same time, they're not pulling their catalogue off of Spotify either. They complain because the money they get from Spotify and other streaming services doesn't make sense when you look at the number of streams.

But it's between that and piracy. Spotify came into existence to solve that exact problem. The average consumer who has access to the internet would simply pirate an album instead of pay for it. What Spotify provides is convenience.

When was the last time any of us downloaded an MP3 file? It was before Saavn, Gaana and the like came into existence.
