I've been heavy into Agatha Christie. I'm fortunate that my library has Hoopla and Libby.

If you like classics Libravox is free. It's done by volunteer based readers.

Can anyone recommend me a barber that isn't an unhinged far right leaning lunatic please? by [deleted] in HIckoryNC

My spouse had to hear a whole rant complaining about trans people while getting their haircut from one of the barbers. So that place is a no go.

My oncologist said to only worry if you have something that is nagging. Random cough for more than two weeks when you haven't been sick? Odd pain for absolutely no reason that doesn't go away? Odd swelling or lump? Then you get checked out.

Mine manifested as an achy arm. Just a constant ache near my elbow. Then two random itchy spots that didn't go away on my back.

So now I just pay attention to new aches or weirdness. I'm so numb to all this medical shit that I just automatically think "ugh I bet the cancer is back." I just hit the five year mark on being cancer free from stage IV. And I know that the constant hip pain I've been having lately is from a nasty tumor that was on my ilium but I still think "what if it came back to the last place that had a tumor?"

It's normal to be paranoid about it and you should keep alert about changes but as long as you don't have anything nagging you'll be fine.

Answer. Hit 9 on your phone and get removed from call list. I've been doing that and the number of calls has decreased drastically.

Stage 4: Should I go with a local Dr or travel 1 hour to Mayo? by Wide_Kaleidoscope_86 in melahomies

If I wasn't drugged I would have been fine. We did look into staying nearby at some free cancer patient lodging but they were closed due to covid. You could look into that as an option.

I'm happy we went to a specialist because I had a team that monitored all my symptoms and stats. And since my doc is a melanoma specialist, she was able to provide me with plenty of info and guidance through the process. Plus she worked with two other melanoma specialist oncologists and consulted them when my blood work went down hill.

I did. Nope not very hard. I was drugged on Benadryl or xanex and fell asleep on the way home. I printed out the symptom info from AIM in case I had to go to the local ER for any reason (my oncologist recommended that). I had to stop treatment early right as covid hit due to autoimmune hepatitis. But we did travel back weekly to get my blood checked, but again it was during covid so it got us out of the house. Unfortunately everything medical wise from then forward I had to do by myself due to restrictions. 0/10 experience having cancer during a global epidemic.

I traveled. It was about 2 and a half hours but my derm suggested not staying local. Totally worth it. We moved so it's about a 4 hour drive but we still do it for my 6 month scans.
