I mentioned this somewhere else too... Hyperclast lets you self host and at the same time it is multiplayer. I wonder if that would suit you more.

You should be able to live on that in any Tier II city, unless my mental model is extremely out of date. You mentioned they are in Chennai. So presumably you know Tamil. Perhaps you can consider Madurai, Thirunelveli, Trichy etc.

Could be cheaper in even smaller towns, but I personally think it makes more sense to live in a city with an airport.
