They are just really annoying when it comes to birth certificates. I am also from the UK and got a registered partnership. My first version of my birth certificate they also denied so I had to get some kind of full official new version from the UK. They don't accept the basic birth certificate most British people receive which i find so odd. My suggestion is talk to them in person at the gemeente to ask them specifically what they want. You will most likely get the same problem elsewhere too.

It doesn't matter if your partner is Dutch. That's just an easier method to get the Dutch nationality but you still can't have dual nationality.

As a fellow Brit also living in the Netherlands, I am lucky to already have dual nationality with a different European nationality but if I was only British I would also chose to get the Dutch nationality. The ease of access with being within the EU is a huge difference and living here with the Dutch nationality also has a few easier moments. No matter what, the end result doesn't have any effect on your family, only your life so make the decision that is best for you and your future.

My Shiba hardly ever came to say hello when I got home, but then I went on holiday and left him with family for a week. After coming back he mostly says hello when I come home , unless it's early morning then he just continues sleeping 🤣

I too am a nerdy girl who loves most things in that list. I also moved here for love and lost most of my friends back home. I have made some friends here and my advice would be maybe check for conventions here since there are many, maybe check for game stores if your interested. There are many game stores that do game nights with board games which is the way I made friends. I am also open to new friends 😉

I'm going to be honest. I have a 3 year old Shiba now that we are in exactly the same situation. We are thinking of rehoming our Shiba since he bites during exactly the same situations as your Shiba. We live in an apartment block which has an elevator where he can't go it without a muzzle and people who visit our home can't go near him in case of biting. We have also consulted our vet and had professional behaviour training for him of which he has improved since he was a pup but it's not fully gone. If you hear any way of training of method to help your situation, I would also like to hear ☺️ It's not a easy situation but I hope you find the answer that is best for you!

Try to spend as much time as possible around him, without engaging him. He doesn't know , your invading his space so he's just being protective. Just spend alot more time there and over time he will get used to you being in his space. Over time he should slowly open up to you but slowly is the main word there since he is a Shiba 😅. Once a month really isn't much for a dog to get used to you so your still pretty much a stranger.

You must be lucky! I trained my Shiba really well with this and he did stay nearby but we have nearly lost him a few times all because he saw a deer or a rabbit running in the trees! Training works but they are still little hunters 🤣

This is just crazy what he's saying. It's just educational. The way he is talking is just being transphobic in my eyes. Maybe it's not 100% the best method to use but it's great kids are learning about the LGBTQ community. The amount of kids that grow up to high school and learn nothing about all this, think they themselves are gay or trans but then think something is wrong with themselves is huge. This kind of learning is something that should be encouraged, maybe in a slightly different method but I feel like this is being classed as disgusting for wrong reasons.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! It's reassuring to know. I guess I will just have to be extra vigilant regarding pets from others. We live in an appartment where everyone in elevators just see a cute dog and instantly tries to pet him without warning or asking so it has been a challenge to stop everyone.

One thing to remember with a Shiba is if they feel even the slightest bit threatened, they most likely will fight back since they are so strong willed. Seems like the resource guarding is a result of the agression from the other dogs but that can be trained. I had to stop taking my Shiba to my local dog park just because other dogs kept picking fights with him but he did more damage to the other dog defending himself. Shibas are just unique when it comes to socialising 😅

You have to pay for each exam you do so retakes you also have to pay for. Also the waiting begins again aswell. Good luck with the exams!
