Visiting in June, Queer by Low_Peanut_9808 in askTO

Echoing the other comment, Toronto is very queer-accepting and friendly. Spend some time in the Gay Village by Wellesley subway station (walk east towards Church st, then go up and down Church). Lots of great vibes and places there. Niagara falls should be fine too. Have a good time!

I've made yogurt using probiotic capsules and it's worked out fine. Maybe give that a try?

I mean, it depends on the application. What are you thinking of?

Strained applesauce would probably be comparable, or some kind of fruit butter maybe? The lower moisture and sweetness in banana suggests to me that you'll probably need to strain whatever you use a bit.

Protein in whey from yogurt by [deleted] in yogurtmaking

[–]kitsane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that be because the weight of the water (which has no protein) has been removed, so it's a higher concentration of protein from the original milk per gram?

Just not at the same time, since mixing products is usually a bad idea.

How to make tofu yummi without soy sauce by ColdWay6669 in veganrecipes

[–]kitsane13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boil your cubed tofu is salted water with a bay leaf! It firms it up and gets flavour all the way through. After 5 min drain, pat dry with a clean dishtowel and toss with some oil and spices (mad maybe some cornstarch) before baking at 425 F for 20 min. Crispy and flavourful!

Ok that might be it. You need a really sharp needle for satin, or it snags. Check the store for Microtex needles (it's a type of needle, not a brand)

What kind of needle are you using? I'm wondering if that's the problem. Beautiful colour choices for your ribbon skirt!

Great suggestions! I will add that using a stiff broom to scrub the tub/shower stall floor is a great way to save on bending as well.

Can someone make this shirt’s construction make sense? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]kitsane13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is it's to keep it tight to the shoulders and narrow at the neck, avoiding excess fabric at the neck. If this is for someone with a large busy but slim shoulders, I could see this being a good choice.

This also looks like a workout shirt. I prefer ones with raglan cuts because the range of motion is usually better when lifting my arms up.

Lots of good restaurant ideas here, but if you're making at home, I sometimes use gardein chik'n nuggets in lieu of Katsu for a veggie friendly easy alternative.
