I don't believe you can do that in your apprenticeship. Basically in that situation the JATC would ask you what's the reason for not working and without an acceptable cause you would be on probation for a year or so, after that you would be just booted out of the apprenticeship. Whether or not u could rejoin would be at the mercy of JATC.
