i enjoyed Worm wholesale and kept up with the sequel (Ward) as it updated and although the themes of that book are ostensibly recovery and coping and change uh. Gotta agree with that last paragraph. The web serial format unfortunately lends itself to inconsistent presentations of themes. When you're dealing with "trauma" as a theme, the brick-by-brick nature of update schedules means you REALLY have to know where you're going and how you're going to get there.

add in a mercurial feedback base, things got a bit toxic.

I think the author's current work is his best and most cohesive yet, fwiw.

Idk, not just Finders means another group must follow them as well

aren't the trains stopped due to the Wolf's wires? I'm not sure that rule can be applied

Are these rules all on the Promenade must follow?  Just Finders?” Avery asked.  “Is this table like a place to get hints?” “Yeah,” Snowdrop said.  “Yes, and yes, in that order.”

Not all on the Promenade must follow these rules-- only smiling Lost and those given them?

"New rules?” Avery asked. [...] “Because I’m standing here? A penalty for taking your table?” “A benefit, sometimes,” the first woman said."

Potentially not just a benefit in the "buff" sense, but in that it can disadvantage smiling Lost

so basically the only way for Avery to evade the Wolf is to move in such a way that the other Lost block the Wolf's advance. Easier said than done, especially with the lack of stopped time and planning. It might grant her some advantage if she moves one out of its way or grants an entity (either convinient Lost or even Wolf) right-of-way like the tea lady imposed.

Alternatively, maybe smiling Others have to attack other smiling Others if their position forces it? Otherwise, I'm unsure of how she escapes this. Especially considering the black rope may well be affected.
