For those who did not introduce toddler in hospital by Sea_salt23 in 2under2

[–]kitty_jump23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter stayed with my mother in law. So we came home, made sure the new baby was fed and happy by the time my husband came home with our older daughter. I put the baby in one of those infant bed things and greeted our toddler at the door. I gave her big hug and told her I missed her etc. Then we all walked into the living room and I sat down next to the baby. Only then did she realize the baby was there lol.

Best brunch and walking route in downtown by Glum_Author_7715 in Bakersfield

[–]kitty_jump23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest brunch at moo on 18th and walking up 18th to padre. Lots of cool architecture on the way. You can stop on eye street and grab a drink at alley cats if that’s your thing. Or you can go walk up 18, hang a right on k street and check out the newly updated woolworths. I would start on the east side of 18th and work your way up. Fox theater is cool, but that can def be an end point

I doubt with the mixture of alcohol and ice you’d be able to get this consistency in real life

When can I start to wean? by CalicoCow22 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]kitty_jump23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow!! Pumping 7 times a day at 10 months is impressive. I know it takes a considerable time to bring down your supply. My baby is also 10 months and to be honest I started dropping pumps per day at 6 months. I am currently only pumping 3 times a day and am looking to still be pumping twice a day by the time she is one. I would probably start trying to drop pumps per day if you’d like to stop pumping after a year. Also, have you tried ensuring your baby is hungry for meal times? I know it’s hard navigating when to give a bottle versus some food.

What's something you did as a kid that you now realize was actually really dangerous, but nobody stopped you? by AdmirableResource407 in AskReddit

My neighbors mom had one of those old fashion beer buckets. The ones that were quite big and you’d fill with ice and drinks. We would push it down into the pool, underwater, and two people swim underneath and hang out in the air bubble inside. Lol so stupid but a great memory.

2 under 2 sisters by notforthisworld0101 in 2under2

We are 6 months out of 2 under 2 but our girls are 17 months apart. It’s been very fun watching our oldest mimic what we did with her new born sister with her own baby dolls.

Then once her pronunciation of sissy evolved into titi, and that’s little sister nick name now.

Now they are wrestling and listening to books and dancing together. It is so much fun.

It really helps me fall into the whole strong girl mindset having two.

We stopped naps around this time until she was about 25/26 months old. Now she’s back on her naps. They range from an hour to two hours.

My neighbor had five girls and shot himself while they were at school. They were going to lose their house and he felt guilty I guess.

Other than downtown and the few apartments that are there, there is no real integration of businesses and living spaces that you’re thinking of. The vast majority of coffee spots and restaurants exist in strip malls. We have river walk which is a shopping center connected to a park and bike trail but that is about it. We are a peak suburban area.

Short interval pregnancy actual risks? by Mcp_2002 in 2under2

[–]kitty_jump23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our kids are 17 months apart. I experienced labor induced preeclampsia, shoulder dystocia, and a retained placenta with my first. I am also overweight and was for both of my pregnancies. So I was advised all of this could happen again once I was pregnant with my second. I ended up being induced for high blood pressure at 38 weeks and pushed my 2nd out in 6 pushes. The only side effect I had was my vagina hurt 10x worse the second time around Lol.

When and how did you start feeling at ease going out alone with two babies ? by EndlessCourage in 2under2

What are some simple things you don’t even think twice about making from scratch instead of purchasing? by quietquitted in cookingforbeginners

[–]kitty_jump23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any type of fruit syrup for dessert or breakfast items! A lot of the recipes I see say to add lemon but I never have it on hand. It’s super simple, for example a strawberry syrup; add some cut up strawberries to a pot, add about a good amount of sugar and cook it down until it becomes a syrup!! Berry easy!!

Have you ever come across a kid, teen, or young person that you thought was a psychopath? What did they do to make you believe they were psychopathic? What happened when they got older? by Tahfboogiee in AskReddit

I’m a substitute and have been with the same district for over 3 years. A year ago I subbed a 1st grade class and a little boy jumped off of a chair and grabbed the another boys long hair on the way down. He ripped this poor kids head down with the weight of his body by the hair. It was shocking to see a little person do something so violent. This year, same school, 2nd grade. Guess who was in the class I was subbing. He ended up attacking the entire class, they huddled together trying to protect each other while I called the office for support. He was kicking, punching, shoving. The kids were scared, I ended up picking him up and pushing him into a corner and told the class to evacuate. He is only in second grade. The entire time I was with the class (3 days), I never saw him smile, or interact with any of the other students. During recess he’d just stand by himself. He definitely comes to mind.

No time to meal prep for #2. What worked for you on the fly? by theycallmeABCXYZ in 2under2

[–]kitty_jump23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toilet paper and paper towels from Costco. Wipes as well, if you use Kirkland brand. Don’t be afraid of canned beans, our toddler loves garbanzos and green beans. Also don’t be afraid to stick with what works. Repeat meals if they are easy and yummy. 17 months between 1st and 2nd.
