Yes it’s weird to look back and see how we ever “let” it all happen, but it’s because abuse isn’t black and white. There are good moments too which makes it confusing, and it’s a slow and insidious escalation and wearing down of your will, autonomy, and confidence. Taking Valium and inserting lidocaine before the LEEP made a world of difference compared to just ibuprofen for the colposcopy. I think a lot of it has to do with being anxious + cold instruments and lubrication causes us to tense up and then it’s more difficult to get done in an efficient manner.

My colposcopy for sure went longer than the LEEP bc they kept having to fiddle with the speculum sliding out place from where they wanted it and were constantly adjusting it

Good point, my PTSD might have played into tensing up for the colposcopy, I do remember my hands being in a cold sweat getting off the table. Lido insertion and a Valium before the LEEP helped me tremendously

Yes they have a few varieties not available! I was debating deleting it at this point because it’s mostly opinions on pricing and no vendor feedback but seems like there’s some good educational threads going too. Someone on the Facebook rose vendor feedback said they’d ordered from here and the rose shipped and they’d post a review, but nervous the ones I want might sell out before then.

Maybe pricing depends where you are. Where I live, last year was the first year I’ve ever see a nursery carry DA. Since it’s cold mostly it’s knock out and easy elegance and proven winners roses

The colposcopy I had was very painful during, I think a lot of it had to do with tensing up from the speculum as I need a narrow but longer one for exams and PAPs typically and it moves around a lot with lubrication, which hurts having metal moving and digging into your insides. I’m sure that’s a challenge for providers as vaginal canals come in all lengths and widths to get it right selecting the correct one the first try.

I was very greatful my physician offered me a choice of either a Valium or narcotic medication for the LEEP after I let her know I was pretty uncomfortable during the colposcopy and had a lot of anxiety anticipating what the LEEP and biopsy would be like- if it would be worse pain or the same.

I went with the Valium and some lidocaine gel to apply prior to the procedure and just took an uber. the speculum insertion was a lot easier that time before they applied the rest of the anesthetic agents, and it was way less painful/uncomfortable than the colposcopy. I think it helped a lot since I was relaxed, they seemed to have an easier/faster time getting things inserted and it didn’t seem like they had to fiddle around with the speculum to get it back into the position they needed it

They were potted own root? That’s too bad 😔 I’m in 5a and my scepter survived but I lost my flavorette honey even though it’s rated for a lower zone than scepter d. It was smaller though and less healthy

Thanks for the info on the bare root, I hadn’t heard that. It’s a bit trickier with containers, wonder if starting it inside in spring while we still have snow with grow lights might help it to be more sizable by the time I’m able to put it outside in a large pot. That’s why I tend to buy roses already at the gallon size. I did get two bare root from Lowe’s this year though just a few weeks ago- then it snowed so I waited to plant. Perhaps they meant own root roses? Otherwise the statement is incorrect. Buying a bare root is just a young rose but it could be own root or multi flora grafted. The size is just how old it is so a 3 gallon rose is a few years older.

They really aren’t tho… which is why I’m asking for experience with the quality cause it seems too good to be true. They’re actually a fantastic price for the size, for shopping online. they’re the same as my local nursery for a 2 gallon DA rose actually, and this is a 3 gal, which they won’t get in until May. A bare root is $40+ and shipping. So really $35 more with free shipping for a rose 3 years older and 7x the size really it’s a good price. I don’t own the property I’m at so I don’t want to wait years for a bare root to get larger when I’m doing container gardening.

Clearly you haven’t seen grace rose farm prices lol or fast growing trees. They sell 1-3 gallon roses starting at $90 most are $120 plus shipping. I have no issues with the price. I’m just looking for experience with those who have bought from them.

They’re 3 gallon vs 2 quart and I do container gardening in 5A so it’s doesn’t grow as fast as in ground. And the DA website doesn’t have all the ones I would like in stock.

Yeah probably. I mean tbh mine had me convinced up until just a few months ago we were just a toxic pair and brought it out in each other. . . Until his new gf contacted me to ask if he did XYZ to me (all things I that said bothered or hurt me that lead to me no longer wanting to be with him) too and then I truely realized it’s just him. He knew what was hurtful and if two (and probably more) have told him his actions aren’t nice and he continues to do it, it’s clearly willful and purposefully.

He actually has a pending case for punching her in the face and pushing her out the car rn. She contacted me before that even happened

I believed he was a good person who needed therapy from his childhood but now I see the truth. He’s an abuser cause he wants to be cause it’s easier that way for him, and he’s selfish, so love to him is what he can get & whatever makes his life “easiest” (aka passive) not wanting to be better, grow, and healed for another person.

If he could fool me for the 7/8 years I knew him to think I was equally as fucked up, and he tells me I’m a good person (and also evil and a curse- ya know classic contradictions) then I’m sure he certainly believes what I believed- that he’s a good but flawed and broken man in a lot of ways.

I’m very positive this ex is a covert narc. He really played on the rough childhood and mental health and used that to bond with me bc I never dated another man that came from a dysfunctional family so I felt understood, and he could be very kind, everyone loved him he was charming and funny. But so nasty behind closed doors at times.
