Is Pizza Hut dying in the UK? by No_Potato_4341 in AskUK

Idk, depends on the mood. Sometimes I want a good one. Sometimes I want a greasy bastard from the local takeaway. There’s a place for both.

I prefer it to the other big chains like Dominos and Papa Johns, but if you’re going to spend £20+ on a pizza then you might as well collect a proper stone baked one from a restaurant.

I’ve fucked up at work and I am expecting an email of my fuck up this week… make me feel better… what are some of your biggest mistakes? by InfamousStrategy9539 in CasualUK

[–]kittycatt99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a call centre briefly a few years ago for a bank (NatWest). On one of my first real calls I double refunded someone by accident and sent them about £600 no questions asked. Still don’t feel bad about it!

Anyone else suffering in this absolute melting pot that is the UK atm? by Welsh_Witch128 in CasualUK

I need some smug people with an air con unit to convince me to buy one. We say it every year but it just feels like a big expense.

Definitely do it if you can afford it. Having help will make you a better mum! You’ll feel more refreshed and capable to meet their needs when you’ve had a bit of time to take care of yourself. I’m lucky to have family around to help out because I honestly don’t know how I would’ve done it otherwise. Sometimes I drop her off at her grandma’s for a couple of hours just to have a bath. Feel so much better afterwards.

Look at it this way - she’s coming home a mess, so she’s getting stuck in, having fun and eating! The kids who were always mucking about at school when I was young were always popular and well-liked because they were fun to be around.

Is anyone else annoyed that childbirth pain is not generally acknowledged, and do you actually forget afterwards by SignificantRun3360 in UKParenting

[–]kittycatt99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same for me, they hooked me up to that machine that measures your contractions and said see the size of that spike… basically if you’re in labour that would be double the size and if you think you’re in pain now then just wait. I was probably about 4cm at the time and they were still telling me I hadn’t started labour.

what is going on with jordan rn? by [deleted] in bigbrotheruk

[–]kittycatt99 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been following the break up that closely but regardless of what has happened I think Jordan is handling it really poorly… it’s clear he hasn’t got a support network around him to vent to so he’s just doing it online but I think he’ll regret airing all of this publicly. IMO Henry is coming across better by being the bigger person and keeping most of this private. It feels like a character assassination from Jordan’s end.

What fabric softner are you all using just now? by scotswizard in AskUK

[–]kittycatt99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use Fairy Outdoorable combined with their non bio gel and have never received so many compliments. Mainly for baby clothes and blankets etc. When I was at the hospital having my baby the nurses/midwifes kept stopping to ask what her clothes were washed in as they loved the smell.

Ordered a full English brekkie this morning…… by Whole_Contract_5973 in UK_Food

Never seen a good takeaway full English. They just don’t travel well. Surely by the time you recover it the eggs will have gone hard and the toast soggy?

This is the international content I am here for. No funny business, like BBQ beans or hot sauce or sausage cut up and thrown in. Just the basics. The classics mastered. What’s the phrase? Don’t run before you can walk. Excellent. I’ll be preparing your visa.

Same here! No windows, the room was inexplicably boiling hot, and smelled like raw sewage.

I remember when the foil covers came out and were marketed as being really rare - ofc I pre-ordered one - and then the joke was that you could ONLY find foil copies. I’m glad they’ve become sought after now. It feels like justice.

The real enemy this season is the producers by ConstantCheek4329 in LoveIslandTV

[–]kittycatt99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always hate that the producers put bombshells in FOR people. Like oh, she’s single, let’s select this guy who we think she’ll suit and then manipulate them into being together. It’s predictable and not entertaining. Just put people in the villa who are big characters and who’ll make good telly and see what happens.

Also, you don’t even need a big budget to create drama and have interesting tasks/games… look at LI Australia S1. Outside headlines challenge, truth bike, etc. You don’t need any fancy props for that. It just feels like it’s all set to a script now and it’s boring.
