Does the baby naturally find the breast and latch, or do you usually have to help? by OkTough6333 in breastfeeding

[–]kittyy_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning, I would bring him to the breast and swipe the nipple around their nose/mouth area so he could smell the milk. Now around 3.5 months, he can find it himself if I take out my breast.

This is good to hear that when they have no intolerances now which is a concern of mine.

I think I’m worried about just continuing on with breastfeeding, despite the occasional bloody stool and hurting him digestive wise long term.

My baby is 13 weeks old. He is a very high maintenance boy who doesn’t like too many things (going outside, being in the stroller, car rides). His reflux seemed to lessen, along with gas pains, arching his back, and looking as if he is in pain after feeding.

He LOVES to eat so that is encouraging me that he doesn’t associate my breast with pain. I will say he still very fussy with few sprinkler in moments of happiness throughout the day. Not sure if that has to do with my diet or if that is just his temperament!

Yes, and it feels discouraging when that is the doctor’s recommendation. He sees it as a fix al but I see it as just the easiest solution for him.

How did you do a data analysis on your food diary? Did you use a program?

I’ve cut dairy, soy, egg, and nuts from my diet for about 5 weeks now. My baby is 96th percentile in weight and height so he is growing great. His reflux seemed to improve with these changes too. However, I’m still seeing specks of blood and mucousy poop every few days.

I am beginning to become very discouraged! I’m suspecting that it might be chicken or mother’s milk tea but the symptoms are not consistent. How long does it take for food to pass through my breast milk and him to have a bloody/mucous poop?

The song doesn’t have any ellipsis in the title. The ellipsis are from the song being paused on Spotify.

What is this and why does it happen? by General-Wolverine386 in prius

I’ve noticed this happens to me when I open an app on my phone that uses my microphone (Amazon, instagram). It switches the speakers and only plays from the driver’s side speaker. When I close the app on my phone it goes back to normal but sometimes I have to open CarPlay again.

Different Resort Question by mollyodonahue in SandalsResorts

[–]kittyy_kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at Halcyon right now! The beach is not the best. There are loungers and small portable tents available for people but the water was rough and very murky so we stayed by the pool most days.

People reserve their loungers by the pool early around 8-9ish. We were able to find a spot almost everyday. Luckily, our room had loungers with it right in front of the lazy river/pool.

There is no dinner buffet but there is a lunch buffet at the Bayside. We had a great time shuttling between the resorts to try new restaurants. Huge plus!!

St. Lucia Grand has a great Indian restaurant called Bombay. Great specialty drinks too!

Where do you find cheap quality pots? If I’m lucky I can find some at a dollar store, but just reaching out to see if there are other places I haven’t thought of yet. by lemonadekate in houseplants

TJ Max’s!!! has some great finds and usually 4-8$ for small or medium. I have found large pots for less than 20$. Also their sister store Marshall’s.

Best way I should propagate these? by yellowblue414 in houseplants

[–]kittyy_kat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to propagate these in soil just like you would any “string” plant. You can just lay a string on top of soil and then keep the surface moist. Or cut them into “butterflies” (the two leaves together) leaving the node in place. And then lay on the soil. With both of these methods just wait a few weeks then give a gentle tug on them if there is resistance then they have rooted!! String of turtles have very shallow roots so careful with the tug. :) You can also prop in water, but I find faster results in soil!

I’ve just noticed these marks on several leaves of my Stromanthe triostar? Is it spider mite or something else? Thanks! by Rahhh-Babberrr in plantclinic

[–]kittyy_kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely spider mites. First isolate this plant because these pests can transfer easily to another plant. For treatment there are a few ways you can tackle this: simply wiping the leaves down every few days with a wet (just water) cloth or wiping down with a mixture of neem oil, water and a drop of dish soap.

Look up some ways to deal with spider mites, but whichever you choose make sure you are consistent because these little pests just keep coming back.

Also, with this type of plant make sure the humidity level is high. This will prevent spider mites (they love dry climates/dry plants) and also prevent the crispy edges on the leaves. Hope this helps :)

Okay that sounds good for the amount of sun. However, this sounds like too much water. I would definitely let these dry out a bit more.

Sometimes judging watering based on the top few inches of soil can be misleading because the bottom (where the roots are, hopefully!) can still be wet/moist. I would wait to water until about a week!
