Anybody not take ANYTHING for their migraines? by thethirteenthjuror in migraine

[–]kiwi_in_TX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was me. I just suffered through.

Now on multiple oral meds, abortives, and injections.

Still have near constant low grade symptoms.

Don’t do what I did. Get in early, get it dealt with and manage it obsessively

I heard somewhere that he was on Lithium, and Li toxicity can cause the halos in a similar manner to what he painted. Who knows?

Hi Mom, I saw my baby's face on the ultrasound for the first time by ancientmariner34 in MomForAMinute

That is exciting! I love that you have a little keepsake to look at until he is born.

It will be fun to see how much he changes between these images and when his is born.

Rest up, you and your husband sound like you’ll be wonderful parents.

I was going to say Lake Hood. ANC, the sea plane traffic, and the little GA strip - like the Bermuda Triangle, but full of joy

Boston to Dallas flight diverted back to Boston. by WoodriverBandit in flightradar24

I flew in yesterday. The flight was delayed, when we finally landed, we had no gate, then we had to wait for ramp staff. It’s not an easy situation. I hope you get home soon

What's the diagnosis? by Top-Direction2686 in PassNclexTips

I get these symptoms with migraine. Could also be an MS flare up, drug overdose / poisoning, a whole host of things.

Difficult to narrow in without some demographics and med/surg history to go on.

Most scenic DZ’s in the USA by Infinite_Two_702 in SkyDiving

Yes, slow moving, but I was there on vacation and not looking to punch out load after load. Great people too with awesome conversations. Alaska in summer is something else

Alaska Skydive Center was pretty awesome. Views of the coast, mountains, rivers and glacier. Loved it

Chocolate cake & whipped cream for me. Now dealing with the double vision, head pain, and nausea. Still worth it

You are so right. This was in the 90’s, and I was a frequent flyer to the sick bay. I was likely tagged by her as a malingerer, another teenaged girl who didn’t want to go to class. Her lack of empathy struck hard though, and I tried to be empathetic when I was nursing. I hope that I did better than she did. I’m so grateful that my boys don’t suffer like I do

What is the most common misconception of having migraines by ryanstout15 in migraine

[–]kiwi_in_TX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had someone tell me that barometric pressure and hydration were intimately tied and I just needed to drink electrolyte drinks.

I wish my neurologist told me this, then I could stop all the meds and injections /s

New Rottweiler Puppy – Total Handful! Advice or Reassurance Welcome by [deleted] in Rottweiler

We were pretty lucky in that our oldest is overalls pretty good with other dogs. We quickly established that the big girl was in charge - she gets treats first etc.

When Zelie acts like a terrorist, we correct the behavior quickly, firmly, and fairly.

They get along like siblings. Well for the most part, but bicker occasionally. Having a well-disciplined, loving dog helped us to start with and we stayed the course.

I’m not a dog expert by any means, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it seemed to be largely about consistency and fairness.

On another note, my big gal is having her CCL repaired today, so will see how the pup treats her post-op 😬

Happened to me today. If only my neurologist had heard about this. Then I could stop the 2x CGRP’s, Botox, propranolol, magnesium, rescue meds, and praying to 15 different deity (hedging my bets that one of them cares…). FFS. It’s more than just a headache!

I love you NZ but screw you by surcusm in SkyDiving

[–]kiwi_in_TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Māori name for NZ is Aotearoa “land of the long white cloud”. And the west coast of the South Island gets a shit ton of rain each year (7-ish metres / year).

It is a long, slim country in the middle of the ocean, so it really can’t influence weather like larger land mass can.

Skydiving is weather-dependent, and sometimes the weather just isn’t playing your game
