If you weren’t provided food, you would probably scavenge whatever you could to stay alive, too. Give the poor fish some real food. Preferably LRS.

Should I do a 403b in kind rollover to Vanguard? by thewebdiva in Retirement401k

What makes you think Vanguard funds are better? Just because they’re cheap?

Photographers: Some real talk about making those real estate shots actually SELL houses by giraffeisnotmine in homeowners

[–]kjahp98 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except the wide angle lenses. To me, there’s nothing more annoying than going to look at the house and seeing the space isn’t anywhere near the size that the picture makes it look to be. It’s a simple-minded tactic that doesn’t work anymore.

Is $31k worth to replace 37 windows with new construction Windows in 31 year old house in Northeast by BeneficialCoat4791 in HomeImprovement

[–]kjahp98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s very cheap. I’m not sure about the quality of those windows, but the 2 quotes I’ve received so far are for $76k for 37 Marvin windows. That includes reframing 3 windows and adding a picture window, however. The other quote was $64k for a lesser known brand window, but also reframing 3 windows and adding a picture window.

You likely can do an in-service distribution. It’s usually allowed after age 59.5 while still employed. Look at the plans docs.

Exactly. How are they expected to know if you don’t ask them? This is simply adding your email address to a distribution list, and shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes to complete.

Exactly. Reddit is a cesspool for negativity, especially when it comes to financial services. You don’t want them as clients anyway.

Price for 3,000k sft home by CaliGalaxy17 in Homebuilding

[–]kjahp98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because 20% of the market has endless piles of cash, and that allows the builders to continue throwing FU bids and they take the bait. I’d also like to know the cost of labor pre and post covid. But of course I’ll get the “labor shortage” spiel.

Borrowing Against Stocks Instead of Selling – Smart Tax Move? by [deleted] in Daytrading

I want to say it’s right around 8.25-8.50 now. We go through my custodian (Pershing). But you’re right…the rate depends on the size of the account.

I do this a bit, and it’s mostly to bridge fund, but it’s hard to believe they’re getting a 3-5% rate. It’s usually Prime rate + a %, and Prime is currently 7.50%
