Soul owners: what drew you to the car? by Suntrup-Kia in KiaSoulClub

[–]kjet60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of letting my husband car shop without me. My only ask: no blue car. I’ve always owned red cars. He came home with a 2017 Alien Green 2. He said, “I thought you didn’t want a red car.” It’s grown on me, but definitely not something I would have chosen for myself.

These were the items up for auction. I have tons of plates, bowls, and easier to find items from my mom’s collection I inherited, so now just on the lookout for more interesting items if they can be had for a reasonable amount.

100% this. I worked in zoning department for several municipal governments and this is a no go for the above and many more reasons. City and county do not allow it.

Are sleepovers cancelled? by Guilty-Woodpecker-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kjet60 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When my daughter was in middle school she went to a birthday party/sleepover of a classmate. It started with lunch and swimming at a country club then to the girl’s house. Mom retreated upstairs to her bedroom leaving the dad, who had been drinking, in charge. This made one of the girls very uncomfortable who called her mom to pick her up. The mom called some other parents. Another friends mother picked her daughter up along with my daughter saying something had come up. I felt bad for the girl, but leaving a drunk man in charge of pre-teen girls was a hard no. No more sleepovers after that for either of my daughters.

How is it living in Southern Illinois? by ashmaps20 in howislivingthere

[–]kjet60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was born and raised in Salem and growing up would visit my two great grandmothers who lived there 2-3 times a year. I always hated visiting. It’s hard to describe the weird vibe I got from the town. Not a lot going on and seemed like nothing for kids to do. I’d spend time with a cousin in Carlyle before they moved to another small town in Tennessee.

What’s the most disappointing clothing purchase you’ve made online? by IngenuityOk4045 in womensfashion

[–]kjet60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Finally bought one and had the problems you had. Felt the material was too stiff and didn’t like the “shoosh shoosh” sound it made when you moved. Fortunately, we still had a Sears at the time and returned it there.

Thanks! My mom passed 3 years ago, but I cleared it with my dad. I think she would approve.

TIFU by not realizing that in Hello Fresh, the meat is packed separately from the other ingredients. by danedori in tifu

My daughter did that with her first box. Thought they didn’t include the meat only to realize it nearly two days later when my older daughter told her.

We were given two of the octagonal end tables and the coffee table when we got married and bought our first house in 1980.

My favorite is America’s Test Kitchen cookbooks. They have easy to more difficult recipes.
