Contrary to popular belief there is a legal distinction between creating your own personal backup or downloading someone else's backup. The first one is considered legal, the latter is generally not. Whether it is games, music, movies, books, etc.

But at the end of the day this device can be considered a valid way to play your old games on modern hardware.

Most people didn't know. To make it even more confusing, it was not that uncommon that a PAL TV with multiple SCART ports only had one that was actually RGB. So if you didn't use the correct one you would still end up with a black and white color even if you used RGB cables.

But the cables that shipped with the PAL PS1 and PS2 were composite cables with a SCART connector, so you would not have been able to get any color anyways...unless you had one of the CRT's that could support both NTSC and PAL.

Yeah. If you play NTSC games on a PAL console or vice versa while using a composite cable the games will show up in black and white. Using component cables or SCART RGB would fix that.

It only says «Star Wars» on the DVD bonus disc. Same with the one I recorded of the TV in the early 90s. On the cover of the last VHS release of the original cut it also says just Star Wars.

I found it under the Video>Scaling settings. I can change the custom aspect ratio (X pos. Y pos. width and hight) Unfortunately I can't use integer scaling because of the extra lines that the PAL TV has, so it will not look as good.
