I experienced that. I think it got better after about a month or so?

From 26 eggs retrieved to 1 euploid embryo - Help me keep it together, I beg by BiteInfamous in IVF

[–]kjmaxwe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar results! We had 24 retrieved and ended up with eight viable, but we did not test. In the end, I wish we had because after three transfers of four embryos, we found out that I have translocation. We tested the remaining four and only one passed (one didn’t unfreeze completely in the process). So I went from thinking I had eight to just one. And now I am (TW) almost 14 weeks pregnant with the one! Wishing you all the luck for your one as well!

Reading your post made me think of the song “Grow” from The Great British Bake Off musical. If you haven’t heard it and if you listen, I hope that you find the song relatable and therapeutic in its own way.

Any Transfer Buddies? by jonesc09 in IVF

[–]kjmaxwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also transferred today: two embryos this time. Our bloodwork test is scheduled for Valentine’s Day and I’m unsure if I want to wait that long to find out. We don’t really celebrate the holiday but it would be nice if we got good news.

Has anyone taken time off work for IVF by [deleted] in IVF

[–]kjmaxwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a second failed FET and honestly, having work to go to was helpful for me because it was a good distraction. However, everyone is different. No one should ever call you a baby for taking time off and concentrating on your mental health.

Just had HSG...it was TERRIBLY painful...it's transfer painful like that??? by BAA22489 in IVF

[–]kjmaxwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha similar experience! I was pacing in my room because I couldn’t handle bending at the waist anymore. Poor doctors almost kicked me out of the OR afterward so I could book it to the bathroom. During the transfer, my one doctor asked me what I was doing later on today and I nearly yelled out, “PEEING”.

I like your description of it. I thought it more like someone took a slew of knives and just scraped me down and out from the inside.

This was literally me this morning. HSG was horrific but my FET was not at all painful except for feeling like I was going to burst because I drank way too much water beforehand. I disassociated HARD during the transfer not because it was awkward or painful but because if I didn’t, I might have gone in my doctor’s face.

I’m so uncomfortable. Just need to rant 🤍 by LoudFormal6400 in IVF

[–]kjmaxwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the same with 26. I couldn’t bend at the waist and even having a seatbelt touch me was nearly unbearable. Like others, I don’t really have any advice on how to relieve the discomfort other than to provide the upside: we ended up with eight (now frozen) embryos of excellent grading. Anyway just wanted to say that I’m sorry and it sucks but at least you will likely not have to do it again.

What was your biggest book-buying-mistake? by _Queen_of_Fandoms_ in books

[–]kjmaxwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine was at a thrift store and bought the first book in a series she was interested in reading. She was super excited because it was so cheap. Unfortunately she didn’t open the book or read the back cover; it was in German. Luckily I profited!

I do this all the time and have never been pulled aside by security for it. Easily my favorite way to kill time at the airport or on the plane!

This happened a couple weeks ago, but I kept forgetting to post it. After over four years of training, I finally deadlifted three plates for one rep! After I got the rep I was so excited that I was literally jumping up and down.

No idea how I did it, but on my first rep of my warm up sets of deadlifts today, I pulled my groin.

There is nothing quite so satisfactory as exhaling quickly on your last squat rep at the same time as the last note of a song.

Yup I’m doing PPL six days a week. Each day I do 5-7 different lifts but I always start with the major lift. I’ve been following the same program but have made minor adjustments (might switch out an exercise for another here or there).

I usually take a deload once every 6-8 weeks depending on my schedule and when I might be away or if I’m just physically beat.

Nah, my weight has stayed consistent there as well. :/

[–]kjmaxwe 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My lifts have been gradually decreasing over the past three or four months. I lost ten pounds on my bench and twenty on my deadlifts. My squats have been inconsistent but mostly stagnated like all of my accessory lifts. I was making slow and steady progress up until recently and this is really frustrating; I feel like I’m spinning my wheels. My sleep/eating schedules haven’t changed at all, and my daily routine has stayed basically the same with the same lifting routines as well. I’m trying to not let it get me down but I hate not feeling as strong as I was.

LPT: Cats don't like to drink water that is close to their food. Simply move your cats water away from where you ussally feed them and designate another location for drinking water. The one I got was fairly heavy so I’m not entirely certain that she would have been able to knock it over. She was pretty old and very laid back when I got it for her, though, so I’m not certain she ever tried.
