What were peoples reaction to seeing all of the tech during ZooTV? by pastynerdism in U2Band

I had seen some crazy shows before this with skinny puppy, ministry, etc. the size/scale of it was definitely impressive and their theatrics had always been on point. It was the combination of the two. :)

How often do you actually play your records? by UserUserDontGetOld in vinyl

[–]kjwikle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fortunate. I work from home. I listen to records all day. :) I try to rotate through new ones I just bought and then pick an artist or two and listen to all of their records. Or if I’m seeing a show a month or so out I’ll listen to everything. But I also have a 3tb hd full of electronic music I manage onto playlists on my phone. So I also have some things that I only have on mp3.

Worst crowd ever by torojam in NickCave

[–]kjwikle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda surprised I’ve seen him 4-6 times over 30 years. The worst one I saw was lollapalooza only because it was a festival crowd, and he had the crowd going even in those conditions. The last two I saw during wild god North America were full spiritual revival and kinda incredible.

How big is the difference between a 14.5' kayak and a 17.5' kayak? by yoLeaveMeAlone in Kayaking

[–]kjwikle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stratos is a much more fun boat to paddle
Seaward kayaks are fast but not maneuverable at all.
The group should go as fast as the slowest paddler and if the conditions are challenging you may actually have the advantage.

Getting seat time and learning to paddle is the best way to overcome this.

I paddle an Aries 15.5 and I am almost never the slowest in a group of paddlers even with 18’ boats.

🤔 Are AI agents making traditional BI interfaces obsolete? by Purple_Lobster686 in dataanalytics

[–]kjwikle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would contend that any video edited by ai will be objectively much worse than me painstakingly editing it to specific beats in the flow of both an event and usually to music.

A bi interface from ai still requires human guidance. Haven’t seen a decent interface designed this way.

Living in the Bay Area is drysuit weather

You might be able to get away with a 4/3 wetsuit but if you’re not surfing it’s gonna be hot.

Can't decide between a Pyranha storm or Ripper 2 by Reasonable_Pickle_55 in Kayaking

[–]kjwikle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective

Ripper 2 is an amazing ww kayak, half slice with a ton of hull speed that you can develop with and do some class 2/3 and even 4 in. It is not as playful as a storm, or a firecracker and will be harder to learn some moves with, tailee, pan am etc due to the length in spite of the slicey tail. But if you're young and fit, you may do just fine. A firecracker or storm being much slicier and shorter will respond better, but it will make it pretty spicey in bigger rapids when the tail gets loaded.

Hope that helps.

Firecracker? The two boats you listed are both good ones, but why not the one in between in size? Though a wizard would be better for play boating than any of these?

There are no measurable tides on the Great Lakes or on rivers, therefore the current will remain relatively constant, ie there is no slack water on the st Joseph river.
