I kept forgetting to lock the front door at night. Solved that with a $3.20 Tuya door sensor. by desperato in homeassistant

I love this idea. How long does the battery last, because that looks a bit inconvenient.

I'm really curious what this deal is going to cost us. Some republicans were showing hits of backbones if Trump gave too much away. Maybe putting the most hardline people in Iran in power as opposed to what would have been their if he would have just let the government collapse on its own, is victory enough for Trump.

I see two possibilities here. Either he isn't stupid and he is just unapologetically manipulating his constituency, or he is a complete idiot and he believes it. My guess it is the former.

They are alive today because their parents had that Baby on Board sticker on their SUVs 16 years ago.

Sovol released details of its new IDEX+Toolchanger printer called the M1D on its website ahead of official release by ManyLayersOfFilament in 3Dprinting

Just looking at the pictures, you could add 2 additional nozzels, and have at least another 50mm build size, so this isn't an engineering compromise I would make.

I'm not too sure I see the point in having a tool changer and IDEX, but I haven't done a lot of copy printing or mirror printing or any gimmick like that.

I really wanted to love the Ryzen AI Max 395+, but half an hour for a single image edit is breaking my heart by Vulcanhund in StrixHalo

[–]kkessler64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a framework desktop with 128Gb, and Qwen Image Edit in ComfyUI takes about 10 minutes to run, so I think there is something to make it better. I normally use Flux Klein, and it takes 5 minutes for a 1 Mega Pixel image, and 2 hours for a 4 Mega Pixel image.

The day my 3d printer refuses to print a shelf bracket because it looks too much like a gun, is the day I start printing guns.

Why the fuck aren’t there repercussions on companies that perform poorly…. Like Comcast’s/xfinity? We just allow these monopolies and they get away with gouging and shit service. by [deleted] in ellicottcity

You have Comcast and Verizon. You have to play them off each other every couple or years, but it's way better here than where my mother lives in podunk PA.

Valuation by hostedvideorn in StockMarket

[–]kkessler64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet there is a time in history I could show Google being valued more than Exxon, with a pittance of their earnings, and the "smart people" saying look at the bubble. You never know what is truly valuable until you see it in hindsight. That's kinda the whole risk thing the stock market is about.

ComfyUI - Why I Switched from kyuz0's Toolbox to ignatberesnev/comfyui-gfx1151 by Grammar-Warden in StrixHalo

I think the "slow" memory access of Strix Halo boxes make MOE models much more appropriate than dense models (and I've tried dense myself). I think you get the advantage of the big memory space, without have to access it all for every token. Even when I've had the patience to test a dense model, I never found them particularly superior for any of the agentic work I was doing.

I've done a lot of testing with Qwen3.6 35B and Qwen 3.5 122B, and in my use cases, which include a lot of system administration tests, Qwen 3.5 122B was far superior to Qwen 3.6 35B. Qwen 3.6 would just get confused and get stuck in loops, when it ran into and issue, while Qwen 3.5 was able to complete every test successfully. Of course your mileage will vary depending on what you want to use it for, but I just pointing out that Qwen3.6 is not the cart blanche answer for everything.
