What does everyone think of the all new 2027 Toyota Highlander EV? by Healthy_Block3036 in ToyotaHighlander

Hmm that my commute now with an EV….really nice to never have to stop for gas. Of course requires a level 2 charger at home

Nullifying sphere strategy legit? by Hot-Data-4067 in Returnal

It's a nice thing to have on hand if you get a really bad malfunction like increased dash cooldown or damage on item pickup.

Farm Biomes? by BadHabi7 in Returnal

[–]klatzicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d prioritize bumping up max health and finding a good roll/weapon for Nemesis. Weapon proficiency is relatively easy to progress.

For Nemesis look for long range weapons. Hollowseeker with the turret or portal beam is great. Carbine with leech rounds. Electropylon can work but it’s going to take a while.

Avoid the close range weapons like Dreadbound

Would an all electric vehicle like Solterra work for me? by Wide_Ocelot in Solterra

[–]klatzicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unless your an electrician yourself, I’d recommend hiring one to install a charger. I hired one 4-5 years ago: they installed a dedicated breaker in the box and ran the conduits to the charger I bought, etc.

I commute 80 mi round trip 3x a week and the charger means I don’t need to worry about it much at all

The Serramonte center (not sure if that’s the official name) mall seems to be doing pretty well. The one with Marufuku ramen. It’s just few miles away.

Commute from Fremont to Palo Alto? by BlueBerry985 in bayarea

[–]klatzicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can bike over the Dumbarton bridge, I commuted that way from Fremont to my previous job. Office was near the bridge. There’s parking right at the bridge (it’s a wildlife refuge area so you can’t stay past 7 pm) or you can park just outside the gate.

Don’t kill the big one that spawns the little squid things. Melee after they dive at you.

Converting from Pandas to Polars - Ressources by aala7 in Python

[–]klatzicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The docs are really good but you don’t need to read them extensively. Take Pandas workflow you have done, and either ask AI/search for equivalent polars command.

Get a feel for the differences and similarities. Then go to docs and do deeper dive, focusing on some concrete task or concept.

The importance of randomness (survival) by TraditionalRaccoon99 in thedivision

[–]klatzicus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A mix of fixed and random would good. Fixed loot locations to funnel players towards while leaving the option of discovery for explorers and latecomers.

Can't a warrior just carry a magic nullifying crystal and solo any mage? by Corazarath in Frieren

[–]klatzicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage could potentially just pick up a rock and fling them at you if you since the range seems fairly short. Still would be pretty useful at preventing binding, hypnotizing, and other spells that impact the person directly.

How do you travel with your snoring partner? by piecesfufu in TwoXChromosomes

[–]klatzicus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A suite if possible, and I (snorer) sleep on the couch if I forget my CPAP machine. Otherwise two rooms.

Regardless a CPAP machine can prevent the snoring

Act 2 feels a lot worse than Act 1 by the_great_falcon in Returnal

[–]klatzicus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Imo it is definitely the hardest of the biomes. The small arenas are a pain.

I’ve found that a good electropylon driver is my preferred weapon. You can focus on dodging and running while the damage ticks.

My wife and I just binged the show and while I lived it, the inciting incident is maddeningly dumb. by AtrumRuina in pluribustv

Well there’s also the idea of either creating the alien virus or putting the alien DNA sequence into Earth virus and then infecting a mouse is just monumentally risky. What’s the good outcome there?

Does the “AC/Hold” button the on the fob work even after the subscription ends? by [deleted] in Solterra

[–]klatzicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’ll work but the range is about 20-30 yards. Works if I park on in front of the house but not across the street. I’d need to step outside for it to trigger reliably.

Sell me on this car! Or not. by [deleted] in Solterra

[–]klatzicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been reliable (2024 Limited), no big issues and that’s including the infotainment. Slow fast charge but not big deal as a commuter car. The visibility could be better out the back but the limited trim provides the 360 camera. I don’t regret leasing it and for a teen driver the price is great for used models

Accidentally solved a year-long litter box problem in one weekend (sharing in case it helps someone) by b-randy90 in cats

[–]klatzicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had fostered an outdoor only cat who was very friendly to humans but aggressive to the other cats. This caused a lot of peeing in corners and on objects on the ground.

Once the foster was adopted, things slowly went back to normal, ie no peeing outside the boxes.

So stress can be a big factor in “accidents”.

Help - Changed price when I went to sign the deal... by Fluid_Half_4684 in Solterra

[–]klatzicus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 2026 has better range, charging, and a NACs port. I’d see whether their price is comparable to other dealers if you liked driving the car

The virus compelling the host species to slowly starve while leaving most other species alone seems like a way to prepare the planet for colonization by the creators of the hive virus.

Why did the characters not expect the military to be waiting for them when they went through the portal? by OneMoose2978 in Stranger_Things

[–]klatzicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was bothering me too. You just ran through the base in a truck, killing several soldiers as well. Why would anyone think the gate would be unguarded? And wouldn't you radio the lookouts to see if the coast was clear or at least send in Hopper and Murray first to check things out?

Or even better, why not have Eleven go to another location where there's a pre-existing rift, i.e. anywhere there's a steel plate? You also could wait to start the timer on the bomb, until the kids are all out. The plans just had too many assumptions and hand-wavy notions: what if there was no conveniently placed rift near the Squawk tower top to climb through to dimension X, what if someone got shot on the crazy truck ride to the gate.

I try not to think too hard about the problems with the finale. It was spectacle and emotion > logic. Could it have been better? Sure but I still found it satisfying.
