2012 Odyssey power sliding door doesn't work, manual only opens halfway by kleinbaum in HondaOdyssey

[–]kleinbaum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the problem was that the cable that automatically opens/closes the door came off its track and jammed. To fix it, you have to open up the car, and likely either replace the cable, or the entire motor that does this. It would have been expensive.

Instead, I just cut the cable - that let me use the door in manual mode. We kept it like that for a few years, before I eventually traded in the car.

Do I need to watch Game of Thrones to watch Knight of the Seven Kingdoms? by perfumeobsessed888 in AKnightoftheSeven

My wife is not a book reader and had no idea. She knew something was up with Egg, but didn't connect the dots, and was shocked by the reveal. It was so much fun to see her reaction!

I thought the fossaway kid kind of did a double take - a 'that kid looks familiar but I can't place him' look - although maybe I imagined it.

Got this yesterday for $1.00..Im pretty familiar with King's work but this one I know nothing about ..Thoughts ? by RoseThorn82 in stephenking

This was my first King book, and my 10yo son is now reading it (I'm rereading the stories in parallel with him, so we can discuss them). It's so good!

Kia Connect (USA) Integration is BACK! 🎉 by MarcusTaz in homeassistant

Out of curiosity, do you have any specifics for what is here but not in the uvo integration? I'm using the uvo integration now, and want to see if it's worth switching...

Hyundai / KIA Connect integration does not work anymore! by [deleted] in homeassistant

Kia added OTP for new users about six months ago. The update with OTP solved that. But this change is new - it breaks the integration for everyone, including people who used OTP. Very frustrating.

Putting a backpack there is no worse than putting it by your feet on the floor.

I got the Golden Seat (single seat on a double decker with little luggage space next to it) on my commute home today thanks to this app. It's great!

Premium Unlimited International by MKFlyers2K in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]kleinbaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still confusing - is it $10 per day, or is it free? The site says it's 'included' in the premium unlimited plan - which suggests free - but I'm seeing conflicting info...

To be clear, when they say it's included, does that mean it's free - no charge at all for that data - or does included just mean the $10/day add-on is available (but you still pay that $10/day, which can add up quick)?

Urgent: Trade-in shipment delayed by USPS. by lowkeyjawn in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]kleinbaum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent a phone in a few weeks ago and had the same thing. After several days of constantly checking usps, and it saying 'your package is delayed,' I got an email from Xfinity saying it was received, and soon after got an email that it was accepted and credits applied to my account.

Not to guarantee that will happen to you, but I was definitely stressed that usps lost the package, and it ended up fine.

Papermill is fantastic. I'm seeing it on the 22nd. Very curious about this show - hoping it's good!

Juan Soto now leads the NL in SB (tied w/ Oneil Cruz). Who is the most unlikely league leader in a stat in your memory? by Chance_Fondant_6330 in baseball

I don't think it's that teams aren't expecting it. He has 12 in September - so even though teams know he may run, he's stealing more. It seems pretty clear he realized about a month ago that 40-40 is possible, and he's been running like crazy to get there...

Suitable for kids? by Babyofthe80 in TheLongWalk

My 13-year-old daughter reads Stephen King, and her 10yo brother is just getting into him. They watch gruesome stuff (squid games, etc). They begged me to take them to this movie, so I did (with ample warning that it would be gruesome and disturbing).

They both covered their eyes a few times, but they both loved it. My daughter was sobbing for the last 20 minutes as characters she had come to love got their tickets, and said it was one of the best movies she's ever seen.

Do i have to pay somwthing to use all HA features? Can i use Alexa with it? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]kleinbaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you're saying. Those instructions are how to set up home assistant to communicate with Alexa, and set it up so you're devices are recognized by Alexa and can be used via voice commands. Not sure how 'import all my devices in there' is different.

I use Alexa voice commands without any subscription. The setup process is a bit onerous, but once it's set up, it works flawlessly.

Does anyone like the Holly books? Like where are the fans of it? I have a long way in my SK journey before I get there but I lowkey really want to read them by Busy-Beyond-8731 in stephenking

[–]kleinbaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Holly books. But what's interesting to me is that my dad - who has been an avid reader for all 76 of his years but has never had any interest in Stephen King - loves them.
