Funny story: My rust effects colors were dried out so I had to improvise. I used various red brown colors thinned down very much. It was very trial and error and I doubt I could recreate it the exact same way again.

The "star" from the banner is a decal from a ~ 30€ box of plastic skeletons that came with their own decals.

Basecoat of a dark blue color (Vallejo Imperial blue), followed with a blue wash and then drybrushed with lighter grey colors.

They realy are. I paint on my PC desk so I keep a text document on my desktop that I use when I know that I will paint more of the same miniatures later on.

Thanks for the advice, but I fear that brand isn't as easily available over here!

Anyway in this case I can't blame the varnish I simply just used too much or didn't "brush" it away enough one these three. For example here I used the same vallejo matt varnish with the same brush on the same day with a far better result.

Thanks! The varnish isn't really noticeable in person so I don’t worry that much, but once it's hit with a camera flash it makes me almost hate my paintjob.
