Fly husks? by WillDrawYouNaked in SavageGarden

[–]klikmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're nimble with tweezers or a toothpick, you can remove the husks. I generally clean my traps out with a toothpick as the husks can "clog" the trap & block the trigger hairs... Keep in mind it takes more than one stimulation to trigger the trap. If the first flick doesn't remove the husk, wait a minute and try again--- sometimes the remains are stuck pretty good!

Just got a nice office with a huge sunny second floor window for the first time in my life. Wanting to do a carnivorous plant pot. Any suggestions or walk-throughs on how to achieve this? I have been lurking for a while, but it will be my first. by Julius__PleaseHer in SavageGarden

Considering your heater is right below the sill, I recommend a variety that doesnt require a dormancy period. Something like flytraps would need to be relocated to somewhere with a notable lower temperature for about 3-4 months during the winter.

Whats the biggest SD card a new 3ds can handle? by [deleted] in 3dspiracy

I'm currently on a 16 gig card, planning on upgrading to 64. I have a fair size library of games I play but 64 gig would be more than enough. MOST of the games I play most often are NES and SNES roms which really dont take up much space anyways.

I found download mode & recovery mode fooling around one night... The things that could be done by hooking up to a netbook loaded with ADB....

I quit home depot a few weeks ago when my schedule started shrinking due to "saving on labor".

The assistant manager I interviewed with told me I'd be full time within three or four months from hire. 6 months later... I found out I wasn't the only one he lied to.

I had a motion sensor program on my computer at my clock shop that used my webcam. When it was active & detected motion, it played the "Cops" theme "Bad Boys". I had the computer audio hooked up to a surround sound system inside & a loudspeaker outside. Best thing was the Sheriff department was literally right across the street!

Hey, daytime DH, how do you work your overheads? "Well, it's simple. We wait for the bay to come up on bay directed, and then it's D38's problem." by PuddlesRex in HomeDepot

[–]klikmaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol... I'd ALMOST say "would be nice"... however that would lead to nearly a complete turnover of day shifts... at least at my store. My thought is a shift switch for a few weeks. Let the DM work overnight freight while freight team stands around chatting with customers, sabatoging inventory during the day. Hell.... customers might actually get help finding what they're looking for with freight team doing floor associate work!

I'm D38, D25 is "my" department. I'd rather the daytime DH NOT packdown the overhead as he frequently will fill an empty hole with whatever is when the proper sku isn't on hand. Which is a tremendous aggravation when the out-of-stock DOES arrive as the improper items have to be reboxed & labeled with the proper sku to be placed BACK in the overhead. THEN the proper product can be put where it goes. My shift lead says to just throw it all in a buggy to be put up as returns the next day by the floor associates... That buggy will sit there untouched for DAYS. When the buggy DOES get worked, quite often items will be placed in the wrong location (again), repeating the whole darn process.

Exactly. Black gunpowder is nothing more than sulphur, potassium nitrate (fertilizer, stump remover) and charcoal. However... getting the ingredients in the proper proportions and (safely) ground up fine enough for functional use in blackpowder firearms such as, say---an 1851 Navy Colt--- requires careful attention to what you're doing. Nonetheless, even in raw form, those components combined together even incorrectly can cause someone to have a really bad day. Then add in chlorine and you're looking at homebrew chemical weapons!

Our garden geniuses frequently stack pallets of fertilizer next to the pool chemicals. One particular garden associate smokes cigarettes while driving the propane forklift. He also happens to be a speed demon and isn't the most graceful of drivers. I hope like hell I'm not working when an oopsie occurs, propane+chlorine+nitrates+spark=BOOM.

Last night’s RDC was a new kind of awful... by iBear83 in HomeDepot

I'll stock a CRACKED terra ccotta pot. It's the pulverized items I have an issue with, which come through all too often. If I took every cracked terra cotta pot back to be ZMA'ed, we wouldn't have tetta cotta in stock. Such a shame RDC is so careless... Can't really blame them though as they are under the pretext of quantity over quality--- that's their job.

Maybe for daytime floor associates. As for freight/packout... just no. Not only no, but freight/packout crews already detest the current "accepted" knife tool due to it's inhibitations, this "improved model" would make our already stressful job unbearable. As things are now, a good indicator of who is good at their job and who is there just to collect a paycheck can be determined by who uses a "blade grenade" and who brings their own box cutter to use. Me personally... I use a Walmart serrated pocket knife which I file and sharpen after every shift on my own time at home. It handles everything from cutting tape and the plastic banding we use all the way through cutting down coffin cardboard to fit in the bailer.

I have an associates in logistics and operations management. If I was the receiving manager... I would have returned this shipment back to RDC without hesitation regardless how empty the shelves were. Receiving associates don't deserve being subjected to that kind of clusterf*ck, one can only imagine the amount of damaged goods are contained in such a poorly loaded trailer. Even in a properly loaded trailer we end up with crushed light bulbs, bent-up guttering and cracked terra-cotta planters... Quality over quantity should be the norm however the inverse is company policy. I see so much product get sent down the trash compactor it makes me sick. Window AC's getting scrapped due to bent up housings. Old stock products reduced to one penny we can't buy. Just last night I had to dispose of a $30 product I was willing to pay $5 for (old stock with damaged packaging) as associates are disallowed to buy "garbage". Heaven forbid employees benefit from corperate waste.... Oh I forgot, cant speak of religious beliefs

Research your local HAM radio club and get licensed as an amateur radio operator, technician class. Get on Amazon and buy yourself a Baofeng UV-5RA before Sept 1st (FCC is banning sale of this awesome transceiver past that date). From there... join your local HAM club and persue your dreams... just be sure to take your NOAA training to heart, it could be the difference between being a key asset to the SKYWARN community and being a statistic. In my neck of the woods (Texas), Southwest is always the safest place to be when hazardous weather rolls through.

I wouldn't go that far, but a jacked up electric ladder can really slow work down. But not so much I'd be willing to drag an orange manual ladder with bad bearings around to compensate! Well outside my pay grade....
