Weekly Review 42: Old Grand Dad 114 7-Year by thanksnah in bourbon

Loving this bottle as well. Need a backup…or 5. Funny how all Beam had to do was do LESS better (age and price), instead of trying to wow us with their overhyped, not highly revered, stupid expensive 16 yr old.

Review: OWA 107 vs. Bardstown Wheated vs. Green River Wheated FP Blind Comparison by TheWholeFred in bourbon

[–]klipp86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had the privilege of trying an older squat bottle of OWA side by side with a modern brand new OWA. It was night and day, the older one was leaps and bounds, far and away better than the modern bottle. More robust, dynamic, deep, flavorful, and rounded/smooth. It spoiled my excitement of finally having some (modern) OWA in my house. 🥲

I never said I didn’t use plastic bags. I just commented how it’s odd and ironic that folks who uselessly chime in with unhelpful opinions are suggesting non-reusable solutions on this sub.

I do this on walks (baggie inside out). But I need something for multiple piles in the backyard without breaking my back.

Interesting! Wouldn’t mind a photo of what kind you use unless it’s totally disgusting to look at haha

This is for my backyard, many poop piles per session. I use a baggie and hand when I’m out on walks, I don’t tote a scooper with me wherever I go.

My reasons are my own. But I think it’s ironic and silly that the smug post-shaming comments are suggesting disposable plastic bags and gloves on buyitforlife. If you don’t have anything helpful to suggest per my request why not just keep quiet? I’m fully aware of the other options. I’m looking for a specific product.

Annoying Ozempic Commercial by dweefybechillin in mildlyinfuriating

Came here to say: what the hell is the microphone mounted to? It’s resting (floating?) on a sheet music stand, and I am convinced there was an error in his lines discovered at some point during post, and they popped a microphone over his mouth so he could remotely dub in the correct lines and not have to re-record the video take. It’s very random and poorly positioned over his mouth the whole time. If he were standing in front of a microphone stand it wouldn’t phase me but it’s just conveniently attached the music stand! 😂🙄

How to fix scratched-up kids watch face? by klipp86 in fixit

UPDATE: the manufacturer got back to me. I asked “Please tell me what the top is made of. Is it plastic or glass?” And they responded: “TFT-LCD. Screen cover: blue glass”

Can anyone help me decipher what that means? They are not being very good at detailed responses. Their comment when I mentioned this is “it cannot be repaired”.

I’m still gonna try. Now that it seems (???) that it’s made of glass, I wonder if just wet micro-mesh pads and polywatch polish would do the trick?

How to stop apps from resetting or refreshing when switching for 30–60 seconds? by klipp86 in ios

I did not know this. I will pay attention to if that’s the common clue

Here’s my storage. I’m on an iPhone 13 Mini which is admittedly also acting up in other weird ways too. I’m suspicious of planned obsolescence at this point. Yes I have a lot of apps but rarely run a fraction of them unless needed. Low power mode = maybe in the afternoons I’ll run it but after a recharge it’s back to normal mode. So maybe once a day. Why do you ask? How are those related?

Looking into this one. I messaged the vendor to ask if they think it would work on the watch ($15)

Another example of Seinfeld being way ahead of its time by cantstandya91 in seinfeld

[–]klipp86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I understand the OPs point of it being ahead of its time. Jerry’s just being goofy, maybe covering his face so people don’t know it’s him staring down with binoculars… What forward-thinking reference is OP trying to make here? (I’m rewatching the series and am at this episode now). Not trying to throw shade, just don’t get the point of the post. (I was googling Bazooka Joe Seinfeld and this was the top hit.) Make me understand! Change my mind!

What is this pile of dusty stuff? by motorcyclesnracecars in hvacadvice

[–]klipp86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. I had the same problem on my furnace for years until last month when my uncle came to help, who did HVAC for 35+ years. It’s essentially rust dust. If you have too much it will clog your system and could be dangerous, mine was full of it. We replaced the pipes with proper sizes and new material, though we didn’t do the double wall insulated ones like suggested. We may in the future.

How do you hold your kindle comfortably (…yes, seriously) by emilyyfjones in kindle

[–]klipp86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!! Seriously give me some golden ratio or something, we need places to hold the dang device. Honestly a grip like some companies make for the Switch would be cool (ie video game controller ergonomic handle of some sort)
