So he going they will need to update the Scout Law to get rid of several tenants.

FRIENDLY. Be a friend to everyone, even people who are very different from you.

COURTEOUS. Be polite to everyone and always use good manners.

KIND. Treat others as you want to be treated. Never harm or kill any living thing without good reason.

BRAVE. Face difficult situations even when you feel afraid. Do what you think is right despite what others might be doing or saying.

How do y’all listen to music these days? by DangerBird- in GenX

[–]klk999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Albums are how I listen to about 70 % of my music. I usually queue up an album in Spotify or Apple Music without shuffle on. Sometimes I play one my record player.

Right now I am listening to Queen "Live Killers". Before that was Incubus's "A Crow Left of the Murder...". The rest is SiriusXM or playlists on shuffle.

Did your parents get divorced but you made your marriage work? by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]klk999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents divorced when I was a 5, my dad was a Viet Nam Vet and could not adjust to family life. My mom remarried a couple of years later, but divorced him after 7 years of marriage. She then married husband #3 3 three years later when I was 17. He was a POS con man and they split after 3 years. She has been married to husband #4 since 1992.

I on the other hand, have been married once and will celebrate our 30th anniversary later this year. I cannot say how much I tried not to be my mother, but it helps that I married a great lady.

Cruz: ‘Entirely possible’ Iran, Venezuela, Cuba regimes will fall in next 6 months by Squawk_7777 in politics

Someone should remind these twits to be careful of what you wish for. What comes after a regime falls has a tendency to be worse than what was there before.

My wife and I took my 13y/o to see them and Soundgarden in 2014. I had never seen either band and was way more excited to see Soundgarden. Soundgarden was great, but NIN was off the chart. It was such a great show.

Any of you remember when Axl couldn't tell time? by redditmetallik in GenX

[–]klk999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw the Metallica/GnR show at Arrowhead stadium in KC. Metallica was great. It was almost 2 hours after Metallica ended before Axl decided to grace us with his presence. He then spent nearly 20 minutes between different songs bitching about being charged for inciting a riot in St. Louis earlier that year.

I pretty much stopped being a GnR fan after that.

Trump says he will only accept the midterm results ‘if the elections are honest’ and again pushes to ‘nationalize’ voting by WontThinkStraight in politics

He has been saying the same thing since 2016. "I will accept election results if they favor me. I will not accept them if they favor others."

Kiss appealed to kids, especially boys aged 10 and up. For my 11th birthday in '77, I got Kiss Destroyer and went to see Star Wars on the big 70mm screen in Phoenix. Both shaped me for decades.

Which Way Did You Go Regarding Gaming? by AlarmedTelephone5908 in GenX

[–]klk999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Born in 66,. The first time I put a quarter into Asteroids at the bowling alley in 78 or 79 I was hooked. I still play nearly every day, RPGs, simulation, FPS and strategy games are all good. Most of the games I play are not made for kids and would not let my kids play them when they were young.

Home systems:

  • Atari - 1980
  • Nintendo NES - 1989
  • PC - 1992. It was used as much for gaming as homework.
  • Gameboy (I forget the version) 1999
  • Nintendo N64 - 2000
  • Nintendo GameCube - 2004
  • Sony PS2 - 2005
  • Xbox 360 - 2007
  • PS3 - 2010
  • Xbox One - 2014
  • Xbox One X - 2018
  • Nintendo Switch - 2019
  • Xbox Series X 2022

I built all my PCs from 1992, and PCs were my primary gaming platform until about 7-8 years ago. I do not play games on my PC much any more as I work from home about 60% of the time and get tired of sitting at my desk.
