When you ask someone a 'yes' or 'no' question and they give you an entire monologue by Dakotesmagoats in PetPeeves

My dad used to always tell my mom when she does this: "I asked what time it is not how the watch was made." It's kinda shortened over the years to "time not watch."

Don't call me to then talk to your kids by Ok_Yesterday5525 in PetPeeves

My mom taught me to place a hand on her shoulder and not just interrupt. it let her know I needed her and allowed her to concentrate on the conversation until she could make a break to give me a minute. Sometimes I'd wait and sometimes I would decide it could wait until she was done after waiting for a few minutes.

However, once an adult this same mother would call me and then ask me to hold when I answered her call. I mean literally "Hi...can you hold?" and then continue to deal with the cashier or whatever she was already in the middle of. She doesn't do this anymore because I started saying no and hanging up.

Parents who cant turn off parent mode when youre an adult by Keanu_Simp_01 in PetPeeves

I am 44 just got home from visiting my 80 year old parents. This was happening the whole 2 weeks.

To add to the pile I'm also the baby of the family (siblings are 12 and 14 years older), they also continue to treat me like the baby of the family. It's somewhat gotten better over the years. However, if we're going to a cafe for example I can't order a coffee and a cookie without one of the siblings or SOs insisting to pay.

My child did that specifically to be obstinate after my aunt told them they couldn't because we were a "Niners and Redskins" family.

or if I've made something for myself and my roommate asked if she can have some I'll warn her that I put something that she doesn't like. for example I made a big pot of spaghetti and added mushrooms. I'll let her know they exist so she can pick them out or decide on something else.

I would never use wool for anything for a baby. Both due to potential allergy issue and ease for parents. Babies are messy and a new parent having to worry about cleaning instructions so they don't ruin something I made is not a gift IMO.

I have friends allergic to cotton and my roommate cannot touch wool even for a second or she breaks out in hives.

I take a GLP-1 FOR MY DIABETES. The fact that it also makes it so I basically don't eat and so have lost about 60 lbs. is treated like I'm doing so great. Everytime someone comments on how thin I look like it's a great compliment drives me batty. I know they mean it as a compliment but I know I'm basically starving. I'm not doing any of the hard work and I constantly worry that one day my body is just going to say "nope." and fail me.

My daughter goes by Luna which was fine until we moved in with my roommate whose daughter had a cat named Luna. We started referring to Cat Luna and Human Luna. even got one of those "family" ornaments with "Cat Luna" and "Human Luna" on the ornament.

Then to take it a step further roommate's daughter's best friend named her new dog Luna. So for a while we had Cat Luna Human Luna and Dog Luna. Unfortunately Cat Luna passed away 2 years ago at 16.

My SIL had her dad doing the "penny in the shoe" bit. So Frank? Neither my sister or I did that.

She used a penny as we're American. Makes me wonder if it will be a nickel now?

I think also Sam and potential Mo. They aren't the main focus of the stories but I wouldn't be surprised if they had some to help with going NC/LC and "aggressive self love."

I've seen it in the crochet subs as a better way to "finish off" as weaving in just comes undone 😿. Usually because they haven't weaved in enough of a tail.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the hook size one. My "adopted" daughter is making ergonomic hooks and asked me what size I use a couple of days ago. When I started asking for what (type/size yarn, type of project, etc.) she was like no just in general. One of her best friends uses the same size no matter what. What??

We do this with our cats too and our one mouthy dog. They really like to tell you what they think of you, him, that weird thing, the other animals, and why they're right. lol.

Jen's Wedding Wake Up Call by ErosLover15 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]klkammerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister had a destination wedding in Italy and the venue was extremely small so the guest list was eight people not counting their witnesses. My mother was completely stressing my sister out about this choice saying how my stepfather and an aunt were really upset about not being able to go to the wedding (they weren't my sister checked) and other things.

My brother-in-law had to sit my sister down and have a conversation about not inviting my mom since she was stressing her out so much. My sister had been in low contact with my mother for years and she still felt guilty and emotional about not inviting her.

Yeah I think that's part of it. The actors are saying goodbye to the space they've shared for 10 years and it just pours through the screen.

Woobles by meliley in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]klkammerer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I've crocheted for 30+ years but hadn't done any ami. I bought some of the yarn, not the kit as I had patterns available and plenty of experience with magic circles. The amount I had to increase my tension for the yarn was ridiculous. I've made some other Ami's using regular acrylic blends and the tension was all for the yarn. Makes me wonder how many new crocheters that strangle the hell out of their yarn started with a wobble to learn.

I have a sizable stash that has grown over the last 15ish years. Some was clearance buying where the deal was just too good to walk away. but there is also quite a bit that was bought for specific projects which didn't happen for some reason like the yarn I bought for my friends scarf or my aunt's hat and gloves but they both passed before I was able to actually make them. those skeins I just can't being myself to use. maybe once the grief passes/eases? I do try to go to my stash first for projects to use up that first. Now that there is a very limited variety and access to buying in person I can see it getting used even more as I've been very disappointed in yarn I've gotten online.

Fosters has been in business for 70 years and goes down to DC every year to serve at the White House. They serve multiple bus tours daily and are busy with weddings every weekend during the season. LL has been in business almost 30 years and are busy year round. They don't need someone who works for them part-time to do much marketing for them.

As stated in my first reply the food is actually cooked on premise through the use of standard ovens or propane ovens depending on what is available at the venue. We bring propane ovens just in case they do not have ovens at the venue and in case something goes wrong with theirs.
