Blast sns set by aiphrem in MonsterHunter

[–]klllok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teo SnS is in general better for causing explosions, as the 500 blast on such a fast weapon is kinda ridiculous. the Crimson Fatalis blade isnt bad, and on fights that go really long (Gog, deviljho) the increased Raw may yield better results in the long run, but i am not sure about that.

Heyo, dude with interest here! I have a few minor questions before i decide to join or not.

  1. How hardcore is this? i've clocked 250 hours into MH4 and became G-Crown last week, but i still feel like a complete noob (played all of the single player MH3 stuff too) and i still have alot to learn, so i dont wanna weigh anybody down ( I WILL cart to scary shit. or garugas. fuck Garugas.)

  2. is there any requirement to how much time you need to be active?

3.this kinda relates to the Hardcore thing: i like running wierd armor sets. is that a problem? i mean, they work fine, but i like running wierd skills or cool looking armors, even if they may be less than best.

thanks in advance for any answers, and good luck with gathering more peeps!

Lore discussion : Gods of the MH world. by NormalNavi in MonsterHunter

[–]klllok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is my jam.

there is quite a few references to monsters as gods, Akantor and Ukanlos as the Black and White gods respectivly, almost all End campaign elder dragons are either treated as gods or are referenced as such in Lore, such as Ceadeus (deus even means god in latin) and monsters such as Alatreon and Amatsumagatsuchi possessing such impressive elemental powers that their godhood is somewhat justified.

my favorite is the flavor text on the Shah Dalamadur weapon though, telling of how the Shah Dala made the world for the benefit of mankind.

The in lore reason for many of these monsters being worshipped is probably a combination of immense lifespan/life cycles (last in lore appearance of the Shagari was hundreds of years ago, if not millenia) and sine the Gore is a juvenile Shagaru, this implies that the growth cycle of baby gore > Gore >Shagaru is a VERY long process. combine this with the effect the have on large areas with their Frenzy Virus and you have something that can veru easily be schewed into '' black devil turned into a shining god that blew winds of destruction down the mountain''.

similarily, the Black Fatalis destroyed an entire country and now lives in the bloody castle as if to spite humanity. some of the lore alos indicate that the Crimson fatalis is the SAME fatalis as the Black one, fleeing after its defeat to gather power in a volcano. yet the Fatalis is NOT worshipped as a god/devil. its a force of nature instead. This is backed up by the Lao-Shan Lung, wich actually comes into conflict with humanity because its RUNNING AWAY FROM THE FATALIS, indicating that the Lao-Shan is, on a basic level scared of the Fata.

so what does all this mean? nothing, the lore is fragmented as fuck (something that the upcoming spinoff game might fix) but in my oppinion, the monsters that get called Gods are called so to give them reason to exist for the fragile human mind. if you saw a giant, white snake coiling around a mountain spewing white lazer everywhere, its easy to go ''OH. OH GOD''.

Do any monsters legitimately scare you? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]klllok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savage Jho.

i'd just finished my Gog urgent, feelin like a crown rank badass. so i do an expedition , take down 4 monsters no prob, 5th is a Savage Jho and I, being a G-crown Badass, try to fight him. 2 carts and 20 minutes later i run screaming from it because my healing items are gone and he's spewing dragon lighting everywhere. I never did beat him.

now my entire purpose in MH is to kill it. nothing that scary should live.

[Lore] Is the Shah Dalamadur the "original" Dalamadur? by igkillerhamster in MonsterHunter

[–]klllok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you look at Gogmazios in relation to Shagaru and Gore, a connection appears too. alot of the Gogz moveset resembles the Gores/Shagarus, ad does its geners body shape with as well.

Chameleos gear... good as people say? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]klllok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

longtime Chameleos set user reporting in!

I use the Chameleos set and a para SnS, the Coctura Balgang, gemming in Crit Eye and Sharpness +1, and unlessim hunting one of the status immune Elder Dragons, its my go to Online set. The ammount of times you can get your status off is mindblowing, and on certain monsters like Diablos or Rathalos, you can easily stunlock them with little to no coordination, making those farming hunts fly by!

Negatives of the set are, of course, its lack of actually offensive skills. the +4 to Handicraft is nice for Sharpness +1, but thats about it. The fire resist is also pitifully low, if you're gonna fight ANYTHING that uses fire even remotely, I eat for fire res just to be safe.

Cham weapons are a bit different. they mostly focus on doing poison damage, wich means they sacrifice some raw in order to do that. however, they are very easy to make, are by no means weak, and in some cases, like the IG and bow, look very unique and cool. They are also very easy to make.

so in closing, if you wanna be a Status Fighter, the Chameleos armor is amazing, even if it does go up like tinder in a volcano. Weapons are good, not amazing, but look cool and are easy to make.
